28 peke were delivered to Women’s Refuge Manawatū today 💛

A little top-up of their stock, helping make sure they’re ready to respond when a whānau needs support.

We’re grateful to be able to keep these connections strong and play a small part in making sure there are essentials on hand when they’re needed most.

Peke ready. Support ready 💛

We’re based at Salt HQ, right in the middle of a hub of organisations and networks working alongside whānau.

That connection means we’re able to respond when a need is identified within those services.

It’s a beautiful picture of what can happen when organisations, volunteers and community members work together — sharing resources, making connections and filling the gaps where they’re needed 💛 7 Tamariki, September 2026

This is what packing looks like!

Bags everywhere, donations being sorted, essentials being packed and our little team working away to get peke ready for tamariki and rangatahi who need them.

It takes a whole community to keep this train moving — donations, volunteers, connections and plenty of aroha 💛

Supporting a Māmā of three through one of our incredible networks!

Sometimes it’s not about how a whānau finds us, but about making sure they don’t have to navigate a difficult season alone.

Through connection with others in our community, we were able to put together some practical support for this Māmā and her tamariki.

This is why we do what we do — connecting people, filling gaps and wrapping a little aroha around whānau when they need it most.

A huge thank you to Maree and the team at Pharmac Wellington for your incredible generosity and care.

Maree organised a sewing bee with her wonderful co-workers, who spent the day sewing bibs and toiletry bags for our peke.

We’re especially grateful that the team made the trip from Wellington to Palmerston North to spend the day sewing for us. What a beautiful way to give your time, skills and aroha to children and young people in our community.

Thank you, Maree and team, for getting behind what we do and helping us fill the gap, one peke at a time 💛 July 2026

Become a regular donor today and help us fill the gap.

Every peke we pack helps fill a gap for a child and whānau facing circumstances they didn’t choose. Your ongoing support means we can be ready when the call comes — to provide a child with the essentials, a little comfort, and a reminder that they matter.

Packed with love for a Paw Patrol-loving preschooler and his big brother 🐾

These two are relocating into the care of extended whānau, arriving with very little and just a plastic bag of clothing.

So we were honoured to put together a couple of peke filled with practical essentials, a few special treats and some things chosen just for them. And a duffle bag to replace the plastic bag.

A small reminder that, even in the middle of big changes, they are seen, valued and cared for.
