🏆 Local teams. Shared effort. More Northlanders playing.

Four teams brought heart and creativity to ReSport’s annual business challenge, growing gear donations, funds and awareness through the off-season.

Kensington Fitness, (Sport Northland) took first place across all three tasks!

Mitre 10 MEGA Whangārei, Classic Builders - Northland & Semenoff Stadium placed second & Engraving Systems 2020 - Whangarei, WORKSPACE, Pompallier Catholic College Sport, Selwyn Park School, Whananaki School third.

Thank you to all 27 businesses, schools and sports hubs in our Champion a Good Cause programme, with an extra cheer for our four challenge teams.

You champion our kaupapa; we’re proud to champion you.
When local people back local solutions, everyone wins.

Sport is a right, not a luxury.

🏉 16 SCHOOLS. 4 ORDERS. ONE SHARED PURPOSE.

A return trip to Kaitaia this week as guest speaker at the Far North Principals Hui, connecting ReSport directly with 16 schools across the Far North. Even better, four school orders came through while we were presenting! 💚

This is why regional connection matters. Getting into the right rooms, listening to our schools and making it easier for them to connect tamariki with the gear they need.

Because sport is a right, not a luxury. Every child deserves the opportunity to play.

Special acknowledgement to Michelle Payne, Allison Rangi and Debbie Costello, a powerful trio in the Northland education sector, for creating the connection and opportunity.

Connection → Access → Participation.
That’s ReSport in action. 🏉🏀⚽

🏉 Sport is about so much more than winning.

A great morning at Fulton Hogan’s Tailgate Meeting, sharing ReSport’s mission to reduce barriers to participation in sport, recreation and play.

Huge thanks to Charmaine Soljak and the Fulton Hogan Leadership Team for the invitation, and to ReSport Ambassador Derren Witcombe for sharing inspiring reflections from his professional rugby and coaching career.

A strong conversation around connection, opportunity and the people behind the journey, and the role sport can play as a positive navigator for our young people.

Thanks, Fulton Hogan, for continuing to back our kaupapa. 💚

🚐 AUCKLAND WHISTLE-STOP TOUR = ANOTHER FULL VAN!

Yesterday was all about connections, collections and keeping great sporting gear moving.

First stop, Bayleys Real Estate Warkworth, catching up with Rob Hood and hearing more about his plans for the Mahurangi area, including four new ReSport pātaka heading his way to help grow the collection network locally. 🙌

Then on to UniSports Physiotherapy in St Johns, our longest-serving Auckland collection point, who have now closed out their time with us. A huge thank you to the team for the significant amount of high-quality gear they’ve contributed over the years. 💚

Next, Hamish in the C*D, Jaqui in Milford, and finally our friends and partners at Kookaburra Group NZ, Dee and Karyn pictured.

One Auckland run. One very full van. A whole lot of quality gear heading back into play. 🏏🏉⚽

Once our volunteers process the stock, we’ll share how many people this haul can support and its estimated economic value.

📣 AUCKLAND BUSINESSES & SPORTS HUBS - WANT TO GET ON BOARD?

🏀 The call came in, and the community responded.

A new first-year women’s basketball team from Kamo and Pipiwai needed balls. They’re like hen’s teeth right now, but through collaboration, we found some!

Special thanks to Josh Port from Northland Basketball, and Lani Daniels Boxer and Kepa Earles from Te Ātea Community Hub & Tai Timu Tai Pari doing great mahi supporting the team.

Now another local academy is in desperate need, and we need more basketballs!

🏀 Size 5 and 7
🏀 New preferred, or used in excellent condition (must have tread)
🏀 As many as we can get!

If you, your club, school or business can help, please get in touch with ReSport.
