💥 From unused to unstoppable 💥
One of the 6 donated golf sets we collected has landed with Ashton (15)⛳️
This one came via our Auckland Champions at UniSports Physiotherapy in St Johns — one of the local businesses who get behind Resport by collecting new and gently used gear from their networks, driving impact in our community 🙌

Now Ashton’s out there getting active, learning new skills, and building a positive pathway 💚

This is what your donated gear can do.

Great visit from Marsden Cycling Club this morning. 🚴‍♀️
Following their facility tour, this gear is now back in play:
1 x ladies road bike
8 pairs of cycling shoes
3 neck scarves
41 units of cycling apparel
13 hockey sticks for cycling polo

A huge shoutout to Ruth & Bob for the incredible time they invest in developing cycling skills, especially through their new youth program.

Thanks to everyone who keeps supporting & donating to our kaupapa - more gear in play, less waste. ♻️💚

🌟Champion a Good Cause Breakfast 🌟

Yesterday morning in Northland, we hosted our annual Champion a Good Cause Breakfast, bringing together the people behind our Pātaka (collection hub) network. The businesses, sports hubs, and schools who open their spaces, activate their communities, and make this kaupapa real.

The breakfast is our moment to connect, share what’s working, and shape what comes next, recognising the role each person plays in something bigger than all of us. Collective impact.

This is simple, but powerful: quality sports gear moving from one Northlander to another, ReSport as the conduit.

This isn’t just about gear. It’s about removing barriers and creating opportunity, lifting our region so no one is left on the sidelines

More play. Less waste. More money in Northlanders’ pockets.

Massive thanks to everyone who joined us. We appreciate not everyone could attend and acknowledge the wider team who make this work possible.💙

📸 Featuring some of our amazing champions:
Lisa Halvorson - WORKSPACE & Work Ready, Sharon Gibson - ReSport Project Coordinator, Wayne Roycroft - Engraving Systems 2020 - Whangarei, Charmaine Soljak - Hogan Northland, Brent Markwick - Semenoff Stadium Northland Events Centre Trust, Paulette Scrooby - NZ Chambers of Commerce Northland, Paula Powell- ReSport Programs & Administration, Hene Warmington - Selwyn Park School Dargaville, Rochelle Irvine - Kensington Fitness Lead, Danielle Clyma- ReSport Projects & Marketing, Travis Bloem - PDC Purpose Driven Creative.

ReSport is excited to welcome Paula Powell as our newest team member. 🌟
Paula first joined us through Volunteering Northland, and it didn’t take long for her to become the steady force behind our stockroom mahi.

The movement of donated sports gear, what comes in, what goes out, and getting quality gear to the right Northlanders at the right time - is the heartbeat of our kaupapa. 💛 Paula has been right there in the thick of it, keeping everything flowing behind the scenes.

We’re thrilled to now have her step into the role of Programs Administrator, supporting our priority programmes, stock, and our flagship Champion a Good Cause programme, while also helping with general administration across ReSport.🤝
Paula is a proud Northlander, mum of three, and lifelong sportswoman. 🏒
With a background in teaching, administration, and financial management - plus years of juggling family life and dairy farming 🐄🚜🌾she brings strength, warmth, and real‑world experience to our team.

Her values align strongly with our belief in the power of sport to create connection, confidence, and opportunity.

We’re stoked to have her officially join the ReSport family!

Northland, what a way to celebrate our third birthday.🎉

Last night’s Pub Quiz at The Judge House of Ale was full of energy, generosity, and community spirit, and our hosts were outstanding from start to finish.

Three years ago, we launched at McKay Stadium Kensington, with Sport Northland as our first formal partners and a tight circle of early believers.

Each year since, that circle has grown, just like our logo reminds us.

The ball symbolises movement, connection, and togetherness. It reflects who we are and how we serve our region. And last night, that togetherness was on full display. Over $9,000 raised to help enable equitable access to sport, recreation, and play across Northland keeping kids and big kids playing a game they love. 🌟

This mission is only possible because of our stakeholders, volunteers, staff, funders, partners, collaborators, sponsors - with our community at the heart of it all.

So to everyone backing us & believing in our mission. This is 'your' moment. This is your impact! 💙

Thank you, Northland.
We’re proud of this community and proud to serve it.

Special thanks to our event sponsors. 🤝

Three years in, and our Pātaka has evolved from a simple idea into a community engine, a place where gear moves with purpose, dignity, and reduced barriers.

We call it a Pātaka because it’s a storehouse of generosity, a place where our region looks after its own. ♻

Massive shout‑out to D&D SIGNS for bringing their A‑Game since day one. Their craftsmanship, creativity, and belief in our mission have lifted our visibility and our mana; and trust us, their next (currently classified) mission with us is going to change the game again. 🔥🔥

Perfect timing as we celebrate our third birthday and scale our impact across Northland. 🎂

Speaking of celebrations, if you haven’t registered your team for our Pub Quiz Fundraiser at The Judge Ale House on 19 May, now’s the moment.

Only five tables of six left💥

Sport is a right, not a luxury — let’s leave no one on the sidelines. ❌
