Great for our team to meet up with all the other local financial mentors in Christchurch last week which was hosted by FinCap.

Along with a 57% increase in closed cases for financial mentors over the last 5 years, financial mentors are also seeing increasingly complex issues being presented. FinCap analysis shows the need for at least another $30.5 million of increased ongoing funding for the sector.

The need is great for sure as we all work to support our local communiites.

Today I got to speak with the WEA North West Branch in Bishopdale about the services we provide and I had the privilege of meeting up with Elsie. Elsie trained me and our team when we first established our budget service back in 2013 so it was great to walk down memory lane with this precious saint.

Thanks to Kairos Food Rescue for an amazing evening last night at their fundraiser event as they shared the incredible work they do in Christchurch.

Really thankful for the invite for Compassion Trust and Youth Alive Trust Managers to attend as we work alongside Kevin and his amazing team of staff and volunteers.

Still time to support them if you have a heart for the most vulnerable in our community.

Today as a Trust we wish a happy birthday to our dear Heather Pickworth who has been a committed volunteer and chief cook for our fortnightly community lunch for over 12 years.

She has such a heart for the community and we honor you today and wishing you a super day. Heather goes well over and beyond helping in so much practical ways and our team and community say thank you.
