🦘❤️ FOSTER CARER OR PERMANENT HOME NEEDED FOR OUR LITTLE POSSUM JOEY ❤️🦘

Paws & Hooves Animal Rescue is looking for a suitable foster carer or permanent home for a young possum joey currently in our care.

He has been with us for just over a week and is doing really well. He is drinking lactose-free milk from a dripper and from his own dish, and he has started nibbling on a few different age-appropriate foods. He is becoming more confident and settled around people each day.

We are looking for someone in the Manawatū–Tararua area who is able to take on his ongoing care, either as a foster carer or as a permanent carer.

We are specifically looking for someone who:

🦘 Has experience with, or a genuine interest in, caring for and hand-rearing possum joeys
🦘 Understands the specialist care and long-term commitment involved
🦘 Can provide a safe, appropriate and enriching environment for him

This is not a normal pet placement. We need someone who understands the unique circumstances surrounding the long-term care of a possum in New Zealand and is able to meet all applicable requirements.

These two beautiful girls are a very special bonded pair and are looking for a loving forever home together!

They are both incredibly affectionate, forward and smoochy, with big personalities and plenty of character. They love attention, love being around their people and make wonderfully loving companions. These two are absolute characters and will bring plenty of love and entertainment to their forever family.

One of the girls is deaf, but that doesn't stop her from being a happy, affectionate and playful girl. She simply experiences the world a little differently, and we're looking for a family who understands her needs and can provide a safe environment for her.

❤️ Mars has the sweetest personality. He's incredibly affectionate and absolutely adores being with his people. Whether it's playing, following you around, or curling up for cuddles, he's happiest when he's by your side and included in whatever you're doing.

He's also quite the little chatterbox and isn't shy about telling you when he'd like some attention. He has the sweetest little quivery cry that almost sounds like a newborn baby calling out. It's soft, gentle, and one of the cutest things about him. He'll thrive in a home where he can be included as part of the family and showered with lots of love.

🏡 STRAWBERRY IS LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME! ❤️

At just 8 weeks old, Strawberry came to us from another rescue that had cared for her since she was 5 weeks old. She's had lots of love, care and socialisation, and since arriving with us she has passed all of our checks with children, dogs and cats.

Her foster mum affectionately describes her breed as "Firecracker × Shark." 🤭 She also describes Strawberry as cute, confident and clever, and we'd have to agree! Strawberry is an affectionate, playful girl who loves to be involved in whatever is going on around her. She travels beautifully in the car and even does an adorable little "poopy dance" to let you know when she needs to go outside.
