Monday night, with the help of our local policeman, we were able to draw the winning ticket of the Coast to Coast in support of the Philips Search & Rescue Trust rescue helicopter motorbike raffle. The winner was Aaron from Kumeroa. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, and thank you to Bunnings Palmerston North for allowing us the use of your front door. a special big thank you to Suzuki Motorcycles NZ , Courtesy motorcycles and Phil Turnbull with out your support this would never be as good .

The inaugural Te Āpiti Traverse, organised by the Woodville Lions Club, is all set to take place Saturday 14 March 2026!

We are ready to guide participants across the spectacular Manawatū Gorge / Te Āpiti and its iconic wind-farm ridge lines. ⛰️

Whether you are an elite trail athlete or whanau seeking an unforgettable day outdoors, you'll find we offer a distance and a view for you. Take part in a rare chance to traverse one of Aotearoa’s most distinctive landscapes.

Te Āpi' Traverse set to test the brave

A brand-new trail challenge is coming to the lower North Island and it’s inviting runners, walkers and explorers of all levels to experience the raw beauty of Tararua and Manawatū like never before.

The inaugural Te Āpiti Traverse, organised by the Woodville Lions Club, will take place Saturday 14 March 2026, guiding participants across the spectacular Manawatū Gorge / Te Āpiti and its iconic wind-farm ridge lines.

Designed for everyone from elite trail athletes to families seeking an unforgeable day outdoors, the event offers multiple distances and a rare chance to traverse one of Aotearoa’s most distinctive landscapes.

“We’re thrilled to bring an event like this to the region,” says Scott Gilmore, Woodville Lions Club President.“It’s not just about fitness. It’s about showcasing our home, connecting people with local businesses and making sure every dollar raised goes right back to support our regional Hospice Arohanui, as well as our

With entries now open, organisers expect 300 - 500+ participants in year one, alongside whānau, supporters and visitors from throughout the lower North Island. Promotional momentum is building, supported by regional media, running networks and digital engagement.

We are all set for another epic Woodville Lions Club NZ and Suzuki Motorcycles NZ Coast to Coast tomorrow, supporting the Philips Search & Rescue Trust Grassroots Rescue Helicopter.
Registration from 9am at the Himatangi Beach Community Centre, cost is $25, Eftpos available.

Woodville Lions are proud to join with Tararua REAP to bring an engaging, informative and very timely workshop session to our communities - the highly acclaimed "Ducks in a Row" programme that shines a light on a sensible and supportive approach to that time when we come to the end of life, as we know it.

With support and advice from legal and funeral experts, coupled with financial expertise in those leading the programme, this project is one everybody, of all ages, can benefit from.

We encourage you to circulate this flyer amongst your social media networks to assist us in getting some 25+ participants along to the Supper Room at Woodville Sports Stadium, Thursday 3 April. The programme runs 10am - 2.00pm, with complimentary lunch supplied.
