Thumbs up for .edwardss on breaking her NZ record in the 50m freestyle in a time of 24.97 at the Monaco stop of the Mare Nostrum.

She has also made it through to the 4th round of the speed tournament, finishing 4th after tonight’s quarterfinal.

Huge congratulations to Chelsey Edwards on being named Sportswoman of the Year at the Hutt Valley Sports Awards — an incredible achievement in itself.

But it didn’t stop there… Chelsey was also awarded the Supreme Award, recognising her as the overall standout winner of the entire evening 🏆

What made the moment even more special was that Chelsey was able to accept the award live via video call all the way from Monaco, where she is currently competing in the Mare Nostrum swimming series. After finishing her session, she took the time to speak to everyone back home — a moment we know many won’t forget.

Chelsey, we are so incredibly proud to have you representing the North Shore Swimming family. Your work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire everyone around you, and this recognition is so well deserved.
You are on track for an outstanding year ahead, and we’ll all be cheering you on every step of the way.

Today we acknowledge the passing of Ian Turner, a world-renowned coach and a pillar of swimming around the world, whose influence on North Shore Swimming left a lasting impact.

Starting in 2008 as Head Coach, Ian helped shape the culture and standards of our club, influencing many athletes, coaches and families during his time at North Shore Swimming.

We extend our sincere condolences to Ian’s family and friends, and thank him for his contribution to our club and the sport of swimming.
