Our next meeting is on Tuesday June 2 at the Howick Club. 6.30.p.m.
Our speaker will be Kaitlin Rose, the Fundraising coordinator for Middlemore Foundation. Her role involves matching generous donors with the projects asked for by the frontline staff. Kaitlin meets so many wonderful people and experienced the passion of the staff and the advancement in care they push for.
Middlemore Foundation is turning 25 this year along with Kidz First Hospital. The Foundation covers all public hospitals, clinics and centres from Botany to Port Waikato. It includes birthing centres, day surgery and Manukau Health Park.
While the Foundation funds pilot trials, and equipment, after 25 years, it has a big goal to refresh Kidz First Hospital.
When asked how people can help best over winter the answer from Kidz First is clear. Keep kids out of ED, out of hospital and in school. When they are in hospital, each child receives a pair of pjs, toothbrush kit, toys and books. A whole team wraps around them and the jammies play a soft cozy part.
She will explore the myriad of ways people in the community support their work.
We ask attendees to contribute to the Jammies in June drive, a great cause we have supported in the past.
