We’re thrilled to see another community project brought to life in Bay View.

After local residents approached the Bay View Community Trust with the idea, the Trust secured funding from Pub Charity to create this new mural on the Le Quesne Road toilet block. It’s already been receiving wonderful feedback, and it’s great to see such a positive response from the community.

The Trust remains committed to projects that enhance and brighten Bay View, and has also recently revitalised the two garden areas at the village entrances.

A big thank you to Pub Charity Limited for helping make this project possible.

Hey Community,

The Bay View Community Charitable Trust would love your help.

You may have noticed the improvements underway at the traffic islands near King George Hall and the Fire Station. We’re making great progress and would really appreciate an extra pair of hands to help us finish the job.

We’re holding a working bee tomorrow morning and would love you to join us.
It would make a big difference if you can spare an hour or two.

We’ll be spreading crushed shingle, so if you have a wheelbarrow or shovel, please bring them along.

🌼 Hello Bay View! 🌼

We hope everyone’s enjoying the return of the sunshine and a bit of that classic Bay View energy! ☀️
It’s been a little while, so we from the Bay View Community Charitable Trust wanted to share some updates about what’s been happening behind the scenes.

💚 Changes in Our Team
We’re really happy to welcome two new trustees — Andrew Kersley and Don Bird — to our board! They’ve both stepped up with enthusiasm and a passion for keeping Bay View vibrant and connected. Welcome aboard, Andrew and Don — great to have you on the team!

At the same time, we want to send a huge heartfelt thank you to David Hills, one of our founding trustees, who has stepped down from the board for personal reasons. David has been part of the Trust for over 20 years, shaping so many of the community projects we’ve come to love. The good news: he’s not going far! David will still be around, lending his wisdom and helping out with the Tool Library. From all of us — thank you, David, for everything you’ve done (and continue to do)! 🙏

🔧 Our Tool Library — Now with Extended Summer Hours!
Speaking of the Tool Library — great news! It’s now open on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, giving everyone a bit more flexibility to drop by.
Whether you’re fixing, building, or dreaming up your next project, the Tool Library is here to help — making tools and know-how accessible to everyone in our community. Come in to borrow what you need, get a bit of advice, or just have a friendly yarn with the team.

🚌 Bus Shelter Project Update
You might remember our bus shelter project opposite the Four Square. Things went a bit quiet over winter — we like to think of it as our “hibernation phase” 💤 — but with spring here, we’re getting things rolling again. Watch this space for progress soon!

🌿 Traffic Islands and Replanting
Some of you may have noticed the vegetation being cleared from the traffic islands recently. Don’t worry — that’s part of another of our community projects! The next step is replanting, and we can’t wait to bring some fresh life and colour back to those spots.

Bay View Tool Library will be changing to Summer hours from 17th of September.

We will be opening:
Saturdays 8.30am to 9.30 am
Wednesdays 5.30pm to 6.30pm

Come along and hear about the projects that the Trust has completed in the past 12 months, ongoing and future projects that are taking place within our community. There will also be a chance to understand how our funding process works and the funds that are still available for the community.

If you are keen to become a Trust member we are always on the lookout for fresh ideas and new personnel to join the current team.
