Powhiri for our new Howick Community Board members. Thanks to Paul Brobbel of UXBRIDGE Arts & Culture for the tautoko and joining the pae. Lovely to catch up with our reps and a surprise visit by a public member who came at the right time to enquire on support for the Howick Beach fauna and protection from taking small shellfish from the area.

Wonderful to see the whanau of Somerville Kindy at the marae. A bit of a mixed morning with Council working in the Garden of Memories so many thanks to UXBRIDGE Arts & Culture for their tautoko to the kaupapa and letting us use a vacant room at short notice. A lovely visit to the ngahere with the whanau to cap the morning.

Latest news from the whanau doing wananga in the realm of Poutini (West Coast Taniwha who guards the pounamu). ... from Whaea Kate.... Trip is amazing so far. Kids are really enjoying it too. Kahurangi took us to Serpentine Beach, the workshop and museum today. Heading up the river tomorrow. Here's a couple of photos.
