✨ Meet the Team ✨

My name is Kelsi Pike Daysh and I am the Social Connection Coordinator in the Heath Promotion team at Age Concern 👋

I am very lucky to organise and facilitate Activity Day groups across our services where people get to partake in social connection morning teas, listen to guest speakers, craft, enjoy strength and balance exercises, and share a wholesome lunch 🍽🫖

🏠 I grew up in Pahiatua but have always had family connections to the Hawkes Bay so it is great to be living, working and building a life here in this wonderful community. When I’m not at work you will find me in the garden, reading a good book or chasing my toddler around! 🌷📖

I am passionate about the work that we do as an organisation and seeing the benefits and impact our services have on older people's wellbeing is the most rewarding part of my role 💙

I look forward to continuing working in this space, and it is real honour getting to help care for people in our community 🙌

📢 HASTINGS SPEED LIMIT REVIEW – HAVE YOUR SAY

Hastings District Council - Te Kaunihera ā-Rohe o Heretaunga is currently reviewing speed limits across the district - and they want your views!

Council is seeking feedback on proposed speed-limit changes affecting 60 road sections across the district.

➡ The review is about making sure speed limits reflect the current road environment and meet the requirements of the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2024.

The proposed changes have been prompted by things such as:

🟢 Urban growth and new residential development
🟡 Commercial development and changing land use
🟢 Safer transitions around school speed-limit areas
🟡 Inconsistencies between connecting roads
🟢 Requests and feedback from our communities

Importantly, this review does NOT include State highways, which are managed by NZTA.

I encourage you to have a look at the proposals and submit your views. Consultation closes in 5 weeks.

And please don’t feel limited to commenting only on the proposed changes. If you believe another road in our district should have its speed limit increased or decreased, you can raise that too!

🏡 Local knowledge matters. If you drive these roads regularly, live nearby, walk, cycle, have children travelling through the area, or have concerns about safety, this is an opportunity to have your voice heard.

The proposals are set out in the Draft Speed Management Plan 2026, along with a Cost Benefit Disclosure Statement outlining the expected safety impacts, travel-time changes and implementation costs.

🎉✨ What a fantastic day at our Active Ageing Expo! ✨🎉

Today we welcomed an incredible range of organisations, clubs, community groups, and agencies, all coming together to showcase the opportunities, services, and support available to older people in our community 💙

It was wonderful to see so many people come through the doors, connecting with exhibitors, discovering new activities, and learning more about what's available across Hawke's Bay 🙌

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who hosted a stall today. Your time, enthusiasm, and commitment to supporting older people made the event such a success 🌟

And to everyone who attended, thank you for spending part of your day with us. We hope you enjoyed exploring the expo, making new connections, gathering useful information... and of course, the scones! 😋

✨ Meet the Team ✨

My name is Amie Sole, and I am one of the Registered Social Workers at Age Concern Hawke’s Bay. I have been working with Age Concern Hawke’s Bay since 2022 and have really enjoyed supporting people across our community, from Pōrangahau through to Napier 🚗🌲🏖️

I grew up just outside of Hastings, near PakiPaki, and attended schools locally before moving to Central Hawke’s Bay around five years ago. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new places, spending time with my family, and, of course, enjoying yummy food! 🎂🍫

I have recently returned from Parental Leave after having my second child and am looking forward to reconnecting with everyone and getting back into the community.
