We were delighted to welcome the Hastings Mayor and Deputy Mayor to Age Concern recently 🙌

This visit was a valuable opportunity to talk about local issues that matter most to older people in our community. Most importantly, it created space for people to share their experiences, concerns, and ideas directly ensuring their voices are heard where it counts.

Opportunities like this strengthen those connections and help shape a community where everyone feels included and represented.

Thank you to Mayor Wendy Schollum of Heretaunga Hastings for taking the time to listen, engage, and connect.

💙 Together, we can make a difference 💙

👮‍♂️ Community Connection Matters 👵💬

It was wonderful to welcome our local Community Police Team to Age Concern recently.

Visits like these are so important—not just for sharing practical tips on staying safe, but for building relationships, trust, and confidence within our community. Prevention starts with connection, and knowing there are approachable, friendly faces to turn to makes all the difference!

💙 Safety, connection, and community—together we thrive. 💙

🌟 Meet the Team 🌟

We’re excited to introduce two of our wonderful team members, Kelsi and Chloe, who bring energy, care, and connection to our social groups here at Age Concern - If you see them around, be sure to say hello! 👋

Kelsi and Chloe work closely with our clients to create welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can connect, share, and enjoy time together. From organising activities to simply having a friendly chat, they play an important role in helping reduce isolation and build a strong sense of community.

💙 Connection, companionship, and community—at the heart of what we do. 💙

💗 Pink Shirt Day 💗

Pink Shirt Day is a reminder that bullying has no place in our communities—at any age! It’s up to all of us to create safe, welcoming spaces where everyone feels valued and heard.

Let’s choose kindness in our words, patience in our actions, and connection in our communities. A small gesture—a smile, a conversation, a helping hand—can make a big difference 🙌
