Hope to you see you there!

🌿 Love Resthills Park? Let’s bring back the birdsong! 🐦

It’s Conservation Week (20-26 April), and while nature has always had our back, it’s time for us to return the favour. If you’re looking for a way to turn small actions into a big impact, we have the perfect opportunity right in our neighbourhood!

The Friends of Resthills monthly restoration group is looking for volunteers to help restore and enhance our beautiful park. Whether you're a seasoned pro or have no experience at all, everyone is welcome to join the team.

What we’re starting together on Sunday, May 10th - Friends of Resthills - Nature in the City
- Native Planting: Help us reach the goal of 10% native cover for our city.
- Pest Control: Removing invasive plants and managing predator trap lines.
- Protecting Wildlife: Creating a safe home for our Kaakaa, Tuui, and Pekapeka (long-tailed bats).

This mahi supports the Nature in the City Strategy, a 30-year plan to restore biodiversity across Kirikiriroa. Every plant makes a real difference!

Happy international bat appreciation day! Aren’t we lucky that this gully system is home to our long tailed bats?

Big shout out to all the schools, volunteers and the community that work very hard in restoring this area so we can continue to see bats thrive in our gully 🦇
