Dog Protection League, Hamilton (2026)

Just a Gal who chased a Law degree for Animals, loving, feeding and serving Dogs throughout Aotearoa but mainly in my Region;
Waikato based 📍 small scale Dog Rescue. We aim to bring awareness about the problem of unwanted litters due to owners being unable or unwilling to meet desexing costs which are between $250 - $450. DPL believes desexing is the best way to combat the growing number of aban

doned/unwanted dogs. The initiative focus's on educating dog owners and encouraging them to desex their dogs. We request owners to show responsibility by contributing $50 towards the cost of the surgery meet the balance through fundraising and donations.Owners who need the financial assistance will need to explain why they need assistance and fill our application form before they will be considered for eligibility.

My sweet Odin needs a forever home urgently
ASAP
I have to take my Mum abroad for medical treatment as they cannot treat her in NZ
We leave this Thursday 23rd

Odin is a sweet baby, happy, playful, loving
Amazing with children of all ages which I’m proud of
Good with other dogs - attends pack adventure walks

Fully vaccinated, Flea & wormed
Yet to be neutered -
No adoption fee but owners will be required to desex and register him themselves

He has had a handful of meet and greets over the last 6 months and people either change their mind or don’t even respond

Please help me by sharing his post
Tagging anyone who may be interested or who may have the means to offer support eg foster til an adoption comes through
I do have younger brothers who can help feed him once I leave but ideally we need him in a home as soon as possible

Surely can’t use the ‘family fun’ excuse at quarter past midnight, middle of the school week too..

Trying to comfort the furbabies including my elderly Jack Russell x Fox Terrier who has been on edge all week now. 🐶

Feeling for all the pet owners (and parents of little humans) who struggle through Guy Fawkes week 😑

I am still non weight bearing (unable to walk) and things are very hard at the moment, 😭 unable to do anything for myself let alone Rescue work

Kia Ora!
I am in hospital, have been since August and have a long road to recovery ahead after an emergency surgery that saved my life but has me unable to walk
(Very stressful with a life full of Furbabies) 🐾 👟
So I am needing help to please get eyes on the last Pupper I have in Rescue..

I don’t need financial help, or hands on volunteers.
I just need Odin to be seen!
