Huge congratulations to DCP’s Nadine Simpson for receiving a special award at today’s National Club Champs in Mt Maunganui for Services to Umpiring. Very well deserved as we have all benefitted from Nadine’s umpiring expertise for many years.

This is the 12 Dn City members who are taking part in the National Club Championships in Tauranga this weekend (minus Nadine who is the chief umpire, but wasnt around when the photo was taken). Ranging in age from 16 to 78 years. It was supposed to be wet and windy, but thankfully the rain stayed away (mostly) and it was just a hot dry wind all day.
Mixed success, but no official results yet. Will post them in the morning, when we'll do it all again.

Check out this story about Akaina Tuiono and Seyjay Harawira. Also have a look at the Daily Encourager site. It is full of fabulous articles with a positive emphasis. A great antidote to all the depressing news around the country and the world

Both his koro (grandad) Dan Harawira and he have competed in the Nationals, playing as a doubles team. “My koro started playing and then my dad and some of my brothers, and I went...

The youth league is finished for this year.
A smaller, but enthusiastic group participated during the 8 weeks, with beautiful weather each week (unusual).

Senior Trophy was won by Brea Schfield (LPHS) for the 3rd successive year. Runner up was Dom Buis (BHS).

Junior Trophy was won by Harry Marshall (KVC) for the second year in a row. Runner up was Max Greenslade (LPHS)

We will continue working with the youth throughout the year and integrating them into usually club and coaching sessions.

Congratulations to you all, we look forward to seeing you develop further over the coming years.

Whoops...apologies for the previous DCP post re today's 27th St Kilda Petanque's Anniversary Doubles, which had some rogue photos ! Not sure how that happened but the rather clunky Meta platform for DCP doesn't allow me to edit when I realise a mistake has been made !

Have now attached the correct photos from the prize giving for the event today.
