What a great day we had for our Coromandel Bowling Club Open Day Sept 13th 2026 :-)
An event like this takes a team to organise and run and the team certainly turned up for this one. Like a well-oiled machine, the team leaped into action.
On the day, the green was prepared, the scrims laid, the rinks marked out, the mats, jacks, bowls and score boards put out, the buntings put up, the speakers and mic set up, the burgers and soup prepared, cooked and presented, the raffles gathered and sold, the registration covered, the bar staffed, the music played and all the rinks were manned ensuring the programme ran smoothly with scores being marked and participants assisted where necessary.
Prior to the event, thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, we were able to offer an amazing Hamper raffle prize plus a second and third raffle prize. The ingredients for the burgers and soup were also generously provided by the members.
A huge shout-out to our local businesses for their continued sponsorship. Without them, a lot of our events could not happen. Four Square and James and Turner for providing prizes, Richardsons for providing very professionally printed advertising posters and Bowls NZ for providing numerous quality items for prizes. Also, thanks to Coromandel CFM for promoting the event with the help of Allen’s dulcet tones.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, everyone, for making this a very successful community event, enjoyed by all :-)
