Beau's belief in what we're working to achieve for our region is truly inspiring. We are incredibly grateful for his support, determination, and willingness to get behind our cause. But even more than that, we're so proud of him and the important journey he's on.

This November, we’re opening the gates of Earnscleugh Castle for a very special afternoon of food, music and community, all in support of the Dunstan Hospital Foundation.
Bring your picnic blanket, pack your favourite food and drinks, BYO is welcome, and settle in for live music, lawn games, family activities, and a relaxed afternoon in one of Central Otago’s most memorable settings.

Dunstan Hospital Grateful Patient Programme | One gift can make a difference for thousands.

When Dorothy Pittaway and her daughter Julie experienced the care at Dunstan Hospital, it stayed with them.

The warmth. The dignity. The nurses who took time. The doctors who listened. The feeling of being safe and cared for during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Dorothy wanted to do something meaningful to say thank you.

Her gift helped transform the Vincent Ward reception into a calmer, more welcoming space for patients, whānau, visitors and staff.

Today, everyone who walks through those doors benefits from that generosity.

Suffering rarely arrives with warning. It enters ordinary days, ordinary places, while the rest of the world carries on much as it always has.

Read Trevor's reflection on the Christchurch Mosque attacks, where he writes not only about tragedy, but about our shared humanity. A chance change in weather altered his path that day, leaving him asking difficult questions about grief, survival, and what it means to stand alongside those who suffer.

One message endures: "We are all one."

Compassion asks us not to look away from suffering, but to recognise ourselves in others, to listen to their stories, and to support one another through life's most difficult moments.

Designed for a range of developmental abilities, the playground will support confidence, balance, coordination, communication and social skills, while creating a welcoming space for children and families visiting Dunstan Hospital.
