Meet Our Charities Cambridge Lifeskills

Sometimes young people simply need someone in their corner.

Cambridge Lifeskills provides free counselling and child-centred play therapy to tamariki and rangatahi attending Cambridge public schools – and relies on community support to make that possible.

They’re one of the local organisations benefiting from this year’s Festival.

👋 Meet Nicole

Nicole joined the Cambridge Lifeskills Board in 2026 as the Cambridge Principals’ Association representative.

A mum of four and grandmother to two lovely little boys, Nicole has spent 25 years working in education. Through her time in schools, she has seen first-hand the difference that access to counselling support can make for children and their families 🩷

Nicole highly values the support Cambridge Lifeskills counsellors provide to our local tamariki, particularly when they are navigating difficult or challenging times.

We’ve been delighted to welcome Nicole to the Cambridge Lifeskills Board and are grateful for the experience, knowledge and passion for our tamariki that she brings to the organisation 💙

Our Cambridge Lifeskills Golf Fundraising Tournament is back!

Join us at Cambridge Golf Club on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟰 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 for a fun 9-hole Ambrose tournament, with a 4pm sh***un start.

🏌️ Teams of 4
💰 $60 per player (includes 2 raffle tickets)
⛳️ Capped at 36 teams
🔨 Live auction in the clubrooms after the tournament

All funds raised will support Cambridge Lifeskills and our counselling service for local tamariki and rangatahi.

Gather your team of friends, family or workmates and get ready for a great afternoon on the course - all while supporting an important local cause.

👋 Meet Marilynn Jones

Marilynn has been involved with Cambridge Lifeskills for 20 years and brings a wealth of experience in education to the Board.

A former teacher and Principal at Hautapu School, Marilynn joined the Cambridge Lifeskills Board because she believes strongly in the value of providing free, specialised counselling support to Cambridge tamariki.

Having seen the difference this support can make, Marilynn is passionate about ensuring children and whānau have access to the skills and support they need to navigate life’s challenges.

As a Board member, Marilynn plays an important role in helping ensure Cambridge Lifeskills can continue its work with local tamariki and whānau, with the support of our schools and wider community.

We’re incredibly grateful for Marilynn’s long-standing commitment to Cambridge Lifeskills and her continued passion for supporting the wellbeing of our local tamariki 💙
