Making a will can seem too overwhelming and many people put it off because they think it'll be expensive to do. But it doesn't need to be that hard.

If you’re making a will, or reviewing one you already have, start by thinking about these five things:

1. Who do you want to benefit?
Think about your partner, children, family, friends or charities.

2. Who should be your executor?
This is the person (or people) responsible for carrying out the instructions in your will.

3. What happens to your home and other major assets?
Make sure you’ve considered property, savings, investments and other significant possessions.

4. What about your children?
If you have children under 18, think about who you would want to care for them if something happened to you.

5. Has anything changed?
Marriage, separation, divorce, having children, buying property or major changes in your family or finances can all be reasons to review your will.

You don't need to know all the answers before you start.

One of the things we love about this place?

The people who grow more fruit than they can eat and leave it out for anyone to help themselves.

- where appropriate, access out-of-court services and support in the community to help you reach agreement about the care of your children
- remain engaged and involved in any Family Court proceedings by working to address any barriers that are preventing you from participating
- with your agreement, connect you with other agencies and services in the community to support you as needed.

You don't need legal knowledge or previous experience to become a volunteer. We'll provide comprehensive training, ongoing support, and you'll always volunteer alongside an experienced team member while you build your confidence.

What we're really looking for are people who are compassionate, good listeners, non-judgemental and ready to commit to training. You'll learn a lot and become part of a genuinely friendly team.

We want CAB Cambridge to reflect the diverse community we serve. If you've ever wanted to make a genuine difference in your community, we'd love to hear from you.

When people understand their rights, know where to go for help, and feel confident making decisions, our whole community is stronger. That's why CAB exists.

Just one 2.5-hour shift each week could help someone find their own way forward.
