We have a new boy in our team.
Meet Lockie
He has been with us working closely with Hannah Forsyth settling into life as a specially trained RDA horse.
He has had his first few riders over the last two weeks and we can see that he is going to be loved by many.
Celebrating Te Reo in our classes this week, we even taught Lockie a few words

Our raffle has been drawn
Congratulations to:

Richard Hunter - No. 1962 who will get the lovely hamper.

Huge thanks to all who sold tickets and those who bought tickets, this is a great annual funraiser for us, raising just over $3,000.
This money will go towards our annual operating costs.

This week we joined the local Lions Clubs of Marlborough for the "Children of Courage" award. 5 amazing children received awards to recognise their courage. At Marlborough Riding for the Disabled, we recognise all of our riders have to live with a challenge in their everyday lives and yet they turn up, give it their best and continue to grow, develop and love their riding. It was hard to only be able to nominate two riders, but we had to, so this year we nominated Eliana Brew and Owen Gaudin.

Thank you to Mayor Nadine Taylor for presenting the awards, your kind, genuine words to each nominiee were heartful and I know the children were proud to meet you.

This is a great iniative from the Lions - all groups coming together to hold these awards.

School Holidays are fast approaching!
We are holding our 'Morning at the stables' again.
Spaces are limited so get in quick!

Please note: Our holiday programme is designed for children who can participate independently in a general riding and horsemanship setting. As this programme has a different format and purpose to our term-time RDA sessions, it is not suitable for children currently attending our RDA programme.

Not having the best week at RDA, Ruth our amazing office administrator/volunteer coordinator told us the news that after 4 years she has decided to move on and try another job, we are all going to miss her.

It's the unexpected gestures of kindness that help us to reach our vision - Reach more Riders, Change more Lives.

Last week we had a visit from the team at Wairau River Wines who presented us with $500. This was part of their staff initiative where each quarter their staff get to vote on which local charity they would like to help - thats an amazing company culture!

Special thanks to our fab volunteer Julie, who works at Wairau River Wines who nominated Marlborough Riding for the Disabled for the other staff members to vote.
