📰 Our historic mail truck makes the headlines!

We're absolutely delighted to see our restoration project featured in this week's Marlborough Midweek!

The article, “Mail truck delivers again”, tells the story of our historic 1928 mail truck and the incredible work being undertaken to bring this important piece of Marlborough's heritage back to life.

A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers, the The Marlborough Guild of Woodworkers, and everyone who has contributed their time, expertise and support to this ambitious restoration. We're immensely proud of the craftsmanship and dedication going into this project.

Our ultimate goal is to see this wonderful old truck back on the road, retracing its historic Molesworth mail run!

🚛 **A piece of Marlborough's transport history is coming back to life!**

Our restoration team has recently begun the major rebuild of a **1927 International SL36 truck** once owned by **Brum and Mrs Nation**, who operated the Marlborough mail run from **1933 to 1947**.

The transformation is already well underway, thanks to the incredible dedication, skill and countless volunteer hours contributed by our members. Every restored component is another step towards preserving this important piece of our region's history.

A special thank you goes to the ***The Marlborough Guild of Woodworkers***, whose members are expertly crafting a brand-new timber cab to the original specifications—a remarkable contribution that will help return the truck to its former glory.

We are also sincerely grateful to **Lotteries Environment and Heritage** for their generous funding support. Their investment is helping make this restoration possible and ensuring this unique vehicle can be enjoyed by future generations.

Thank you to everyone involved. We look forward to sharing more progress as this historic truck continues its journey back to the road!
