whānau. Keeping pēpi safe while they sleep isn’t just one person’s
role. It’s something we all do, together.

From placing pēpi on their back in their own sleep space,
keeping their sleep space clear, every small action helps
protect them.

Safe sleep is a shared responsibility.

This week we celebrate Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu, National Volunteer Week. This is an important moment to recognise our volunteers who give so much. We want to say thank you – for giving your time, valuable skills and energy to help us support pēpi, tamariki and whānau. Safe Sleep - Always place pēpi on their back to sleep, with their face
clear.
Pēpi should sleep in their own flat, firm bed in the same
room as you.
Keep pēpi warm with snug clothing or a sleep sack, not
loose bedding.
Create smokefree, vapefree and drug free spaces for pēpi
before and after birth.
Safe sleep is a shared responsibility supported by the whole
whānau
