Most people don't choose the wrong visa pathway on purpose. They just weren't shown the right one.

Immigration rules can be confusing, and with so many pathways and requirements, it's easy to pick the one that looks right but isn't. A small mistake can mean delays, extra costs, or having to start over, and that's a lot of stress when you're already working towards a new life in New Zealand.

You don't have to figure it out on your own.

At Migrant Immigration Services, we take the guesswork out of the process. We help you understand your options, choose the right pathway, and put together your application with care, so you can move forward with confidence.

I keep coming back to LinkedIn because so many people underutilize its power. It's not just about listing your skills and certifications; you need to highlight your achievements. Think about what you've done for previous companies. When a hiring manager has a problem they need solved, they're looking for someone who has solved that exact problem before. If you can show them your past successes, they'll want you to bring that solution to their company. Make sure your LinkedIn profile speaks to your impact.

As a hiring manager, when I receive your CV and cover letter, I'll eventually make a decision. But before we meet, I need to know more about you. That's why I go to LinkedIn – to 'stalk' you a bit! I check if your skills and experience match what you've told us, see your achievements, understand your personality, and verify your work history. It all needs to line up. If your LinkedIn profile looks good and matches your application, it makes getting that interview a lot more likely. It’s about seeing the whole picture of who you are. https://linktr.ee/softlandingnz

When looking for jobs in New Zealand, don't just apply blindly. Check the Education New Zealand website for listings, but I recommend connecting with the school first to understand their vibe. Prospero has also been an incredible resource for me throughout my migrant journey.

A few weeks ago, I returned to New Zealand after spending two wonderful months travelling through Europe. Three and a bit of those weeks were spent in the Netherlands, catching up with family and old friends and once again immersing myself in the country where I grew up and lived until I was 42.I st...

As an immigrant myself, I know how overwhelming the journey can be. That's why I created our community – a space for us to share real experiences and support each other. This week, a member asked about schooling for their daughter, and the advice from fellow immigrants, residents, and citizens was invaluable. We all shared our perspectives, including my own family's journey. It's about helping each other make informed decisions. If you're considering moving to New Zealand or are already here navigating life, join us. You can click on the link to become part of our supportive network.

Thinking about moving to New Zealand but not sure where to begin?

It can feel overwhelming very quickly.

1️⃣ Complete your free Pathway Assessment
Get clarity on whether there may be a potential visa pathway worth exploring.

2️⃣ Work through the free Discovery Modules

So, this weekend is all about preparing for a house inspection here in New Zealand. It's not just a regular clean; it's that deep, spring-clean-on-steroids kind of effort. They always find something unexpected, like 'When was the last time you cleaned your ceiling?' Honestly, it's a reminder that even when things seem fine, there's always a bit more we can do. It's a unique part of settling in!
