💛 A Heartfelt Thank You to the Christine Taylor Foundation 💛

Parent Aid North West deeply appreciates the generosity and support of the Christine Taylor Foundation for Mental Health.
Their funding enables us to continue our vital work providing perinatal and postnatal support to families, including those experiencing postnatal depression and other mental health challenges.

With this support, we can continue walking alongside parents and whānau, offering practical assistance, emotional support, and connection during what can be a very challenging time.
On behalf of the Parent Aid KNorth West team, we extend our sincere thanks for your generosity and commitment to mental health in our communities.

Many of you will know Elanie, and many families in our community will have welcomed her into their homes over the years.

Today we are celebrating an incredible milestone — 20 years of service at Parent Aid! 🎉💐

For the past two decades, Elanie has provided compassionate support, encouragement, and practical guidance to countless parents and caregivers. Her kindness, wisdom, and dedication have made a lasting difference in the lives of so many families.

We are so grateful for the care and commitment she brings to Parent Aid each and every day.

Kia ora whānau 🤍
Together, Parent Aid North West and Helensville Birthing Centre would like to share an update regarding our Wednesday Drop-In Midwifery Clinic.
Due to changes in funding, this service will no longer continue. Our final clinic will be held on Wednesday 13 May.
We know how valued this clinic has been for many whānau, and this has been a thoughtful and considered decision. We are incredibly proud of the collaboration between our teams and the support this service has provided to the Helensville community.
While this chapter is closing, both services remain here for you.
Parent Aid remains here for the community, continuing to offer in-home support for whānau.
You can get in touch via email at [email protected]
or visit www.parentaidnorthwest.org.nz/contact-us/ to complete a referral form.
Helensville Birthing Centre will continue to provide:
– Midwifery clinic / Milk Café | Fridays 10am–1pm (chat, kai, coffee, support and connection)
– Immunisations by appointment ([email protected])
We warmly encourage you to come along — this space continues to be an important part of our community.
We’re also excited to share that HBC is expanding their immunisation service, with plans to support pēpi and tamariki up to 1 year of age — watch this space.
Wāhine Wellness services will also continue, with further updates to come on the HBC socials.
Thank you for your ongoing support, understanding, and for being part of this community. Together, we remain committed to supporting whānau in Helensville.
Ngā mihi nui 🤍

We know many of you have been looking forward to our 2026 Clothes Swap events, including the children’s swap, and we are grateful for the ongoing support from our community.
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s event. Our priority is to ensure the event is delivered to the standard our community expects and deserves, and due to a variety of factors we just can’t do that this year!

💛 How you can support, if you’re able 💛

If you had planned to purchase a ticket ($30) this year, we would be very grateful if you would consider donating that amount to Parent Aid North West.

Your contribution will go directly towards supporting local families with young children who require additional care, and practical in-home support. This support can make a meaningful difference during particularly challenging times.
As demand for our services continues to grow, so too does the cost of delivering this support. Contributions like these help ensure we can continue to be there for families when they need it most.

A quick team update 💛

We have some incredible team members keeping things running smoothly while we recruit our new manager.

Holding things steady with scheduling is our lovely Lynne, who many of you will know from her three years as a home support worker. She knows the ropes inside out and is your friendly voice on the phone.

Ali Seakens has stepped in as our interim manager, bringing local insight, a real passion for our mahi, and a familiar face as our former Board Member.

After nine years, we say a heartfelt farewell to Suzanne McCracken as she steps down from her role at Parent Aid North West. Suzanne has been an extraordinary Manager and an integral part of our whānau. Her passion, kindness, and unwavering commitment to both our staff and the families we support have left a lasting mark on the organisation. She has created a culture of warmth, care and connection that will continue to shape Parent Aid North West for years to come. Suzanne’s friendly nature and genuine compassion have meant so much to so many. She has not only led with professionalism and dedication, but with heart - always putting people first. Suzanne has also played a vital role in creating and nurturing meaningful relationships with our funders, built on trust, integrity, and a shared commitment to supporting our community. Suzanne, thank you for everything you have given. Your impact will not be forgotten, and we wish you all the very best for what comes next. As we move into this next chapter, Alison Seakens will take on the role of Interim Manager, providing steady leadership while we begin the process of appointing a new Manager.
