Great night of Dancing - that took us around the World!

"Pelorus Jack" (Jig) about a dolphin who swam in the Cook Strait from 1888 to 1912 (when he disappeared) - named for Pelorus Sound at the top of the South Island.

Off to Scotland to "Neidpath Castle" (Strathspey) dating back to the late 14th Century.

Finishing up with "Kandahar Reel" though sadly our dancing helicopters crash landed... we'll try again another night!

At Club this week we danced "The Bees of Knockater" - a John Dewry dance about a large Apiary (lots of bee hives).

A big thank you to Hamilton Scottish, on their 75th Anniversay for putting on such a terrific dance weekend this King's Birthday. It is a lot of effort putting on these occasions and the club excelled creating a weekend of excellent dancing, technique classes in both dance and music all held in the exqusite Waikato countryside. Bravo!

At Club this week we danced "Flight of the Lancaster". on the programme for the Kaiwaka Dance April 18th. Theme of the Dance is "The Services" and this Dance was written in honour of Flight Sergeant Peter Brown, the last surviving Lancaster crew member. Lancaster planes were used in World War Two, could carry heavier bombs weighing up to 5,400kg (12,000lb).
"Some" of our Club did their own "plane" noises to accompany the dancing.....
