Tonight, we travelled “Around the World in 80 Minutes” with our exceptionally good storyteller Toastmaster Rebecca. Throughout the meeting Rebecca made the transitions between roles interesting using metaphors like voyage, travel diary and itinerary planner.
Sathie took on the Grammarian role and reminded us of the meaning of Confluence and to use it throughout the meeting.
Alex and Barry encouraged and inspired us all about mentoring in their speeches and to ask questions when we need to.
Rudo told us about her life in America, using y’all (a lot), spoke about her banjo, and introduced us to her nickname of Rudes.
Christine gave us her insightful review in her evaluation of Alex’s speech, in James’ evaluation of Barry’s speech he recommended Barry work on his eye contact since he was online, and Neil commended Rudo on her voice volume and vocal variety considering she used the American accent!
Lahiru delivered an exciting Table Topics session where all our wonderful guests and three of our amazing members spoke impromptu for their short speeches.
Alex and Rudo evaluated the Table Topic speeches enthusiastically and gave helpful commendations and recommendations.
Sathie being the Grammarian introduced her evaluating report role with, “What an abundance of rich vocabulary, phrases and expressions.”
Neil commented as General Evaluator noting worthy recommendations about the our interactions between online and in-person.
