HONEST QUESTION!

We’ve been connecting with a lot of young people lately, and one thing we’ve noticed is that many seem unsure about what they want for their future, or don’t yet have that drive to aim bigger.

So we’re genuinely interested in hearing from our community:

How do we inspire and encourage our young people to become more ambitious?

What can whānau, schools, community organisations, businesses, mentors and our wider community do to create the conditions where rangatahi can dream bigger, see more possibilities, believe in themselves and take action towards their goals?

Succession planning happens when we value and build up young people in our spaces then give them real opportunities to fully lead spaces.

A big huge thank you in particular to Hazel, Raia and Valentine. It’s huge when you know staff can fully step out of spaces completely and the mahi can continue with young people fully at the helm. We have quite a few awesome leaders under NEW ERA GENZ Youth collective who are actively involved in our spaces and eventually the hope is for them all to get to this point where the waka is fully in their hands.

These ladies in particular are fully managing spaces, making decisions, spending money accordingly for project outcomes and leading others.

Low key super proud of you all including all the others supporting in the backend.

🔥 HOUSE OF HUSTLERS 25-26 COHORT 🔥

Man what a year it’s been working and mentoring all of these awesome new young businesses! From idea to launch. We are almost at the end of our completed year and these guys have done amazing! Business has its ups and downs and a lot has been learned for each of these businesses and more learning will come for as long as they are in the game!

From completing business plans to designing their brand and marketing, to sorting out their legal obligations and getting their finances and books above board… well done team!

We still have a china trip to knock out for the phase 3 of the annual canton fair with some factory visits for one of our young businesses but things are tracking.

🧡 **HELP US REACH 150 HELMETS FOR OUR BIKELIFE COMMUNITY!** 🚲🪖

We’re on a mission to collect **150 bike helmets** to support youth and young adults who are regular push bike riders and need a safe helmet to ride with.

Every helmet donated will be **customised once received**, giving each rider something that not only keeps them safe, but something they can feel proud to wear and represent.

We would be incredibly grateful for the support of our community to help us reach our goal.

🪖 **HELMETS NEEDED:**
Milazo Skater Helmets – Black
Sizes: **Medium & Large**
Approx. **$30 each**

You can purchase a helmet from **any The Warehouse store** and donate it directly to our kaupapa.

Entrance via the **Bairds Road carpark side**

This has been a long standing issue for many but the boys are proactively finding ways to level things up properly and they’re doing just that behind closed doors. You may not see it, but it’s happening.

Slow but steady progress happening in the backend and we couldn’t be more proud of the leaders stepping up and we are blessed to be able to journey alongside them with this. Proud of what they’ve smashed out already in the past month. Watch this space.
