📦 Submitted Entry Return Update 💚✨

Update from behind the scenes…
Right now, Jerilee is carefully matching all entries back to competitors names, she’s double-checking that medals and scoresheets are allocated correctly. And then pairing that with the self addressed return slips.

Once that process is complete, Jerilee will begin contacting competitors who require return packaging (for whatever reason: ie overseas competitors) so we can keep everything moving smoothly.

We are working through this as quickly we can, while also making sure your work is handled with care and respect… because we know how much time, and energy goes into creating these pieces.

Amanda is busy writing out your certificates and will also be emailing them as well as the poster scoresheets via her person email (so be sure to keep an eye on your spam folder)

We want to thank you for your patience, your trust, and your support while we close the 2026 comp with the care it deserves 💚✨ the work that came through this year was jaw dropping!!!!! You should all be incredibly proud 🥹🥰🥳

Salon Trends has always been a unique space, blending skill, creativity, and real-world application.
It’s been incredible to watch the talent come through it over the years.

And… This year was no exception. Across New Zealand and Australia, the level of work was strong, thoughtful, and full of skill. You should all be proud of what you’ve created and shared.

But… It’s now time to say goodbye to this category 👀

💚✨ As we move into 2027, we’ll be stepping into something new. With a refreshed direction designed to be clearer, more accessible, and to encourage even more of you to give it a go.

Salon Trends 2026 results are in 💅✨

Our final category… and a long-standing favourite for the New Zealand Nail Competition. This one always brings a strong mix of creativity and real-world application, and of course this year absolutely delivered.

Huge congratulations to all of our placing artists. The standard of work was seriously impressive, and you should be incredibly proud of what you’ve created and shared.

Next year, we’re introducing something new…
A shift, a refresh, and a whole new space to explore.

Mixed Media 2026 — results are in 🎨✨💚

This category is where technique and creativity really meet. Combining 3D elements with hand painting opens the door to so many possibilities — and it was exciting to see how you explored that this year.

There’s a strong level of skill across the entries, with artists pushing into texture, dimension, and detail in really thoughtful ways. It’s not an easy category, and that effort absolutely shows.

This is a category I care a lot about growing because stamping might look simple… but anyone who’s done it properly knows it’s a skill. Control, placement, timing, layering -it all matters, and it shows.

It was great to see the range of entries this year. Different approaches, different styles, and a real effort to make stamping your own rather than just following the obvious.

Poster Art 2026… wow, just wow! Teddy Bear’s Picnic 🧸 was such a fun theme!

This category was a joy to review. The theme was clearly understood, and you brought it to life with creativity, care, and some really thoughtful storytelling.

There’s a strong level of workmanship across the board this year, with ideas that feel both playful and well considered… which is exactly what this category asks for.

A gentle note for future entries across all poster categories… we’d love to see more zoomed-in imagery. Getting closer to your work allows your detail and technique to really be seen and appreciated.
