For many families in Zulum Camp, Ngala LGA, access to essential healthcare items can make all the difference.

To support safer childbirth, distributed delivery kits to expectant mothers, equipping them with basic supplies needed during labour and delivery.

Recognising the importance of leaving no one behind, we also distributed Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) to persons with disabilities, helping to reduce their risk of malaria.

This effort reflects our commitment to improving maternal health while protecting vulnerable groups from preventable diseases.

Menstruation is natural. Shame, stigma, and silence should never be.

This World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Life At Best Development Initiative (LABDI) joins the global call to ensure that every girl and woman can manage her menstruation safely, confidently, and with dignity.

Across many vulnerable communities, countless girls still miss school, withdraw from daily activities, or face health risks simply because they lack access to menstrual products, clean water, accurate information, and supportive environments. Menstrual hygiene is not just a health issue, it is a matter of dignity, education, protection, and equal opportunity.

Through compassionate support and continuous monitoring, vulnerable children are on the journey to regaining strength, recovering from malnutrition, and finding hope for a healthier future in communities across Maiduguri, Borno State.

At Life At Best Development Initiative (LABDI)’s Outpatient Therapeutic Programme (OTP) site situated in Yerwa Primary Health Clinic, mothers are benefitting from dedicated follow-up care designed to support their children’s full recovery. From administering Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) to providing personalized one-on-one counselling sessions, our team is ensuring that every child receives the care, attention, and nutritional support needed to thrive again.

No child should be violated, manipulated, or silenced because of their age or gender.

To uphold this commitment, Life at Best Development Initiative - LABDI recently established Community-Based Child Protection Committees in Shuwari and Kushari communities in MMC, Borno State.

These committees will be equipped to identify, prevent, and report cases of child abuse, ensuring timely and appropriate response within their communities.

The initiative is supported by the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF) OCHA Funds, and it is strengthening community-led protection systems and creating safer environments where children can live free from harm.
