JUST IN: NUPENG CONDUCTS SUCCESSFUL BRANCH DELEGATES’ CONFERENCE FOR THE OIL AND GAS SUPPLIERS (OGS) BRANCH

9th April, 2026

In accordance with the democratic tradition and constitutional provisions of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), the Branch Delegates’ Conference of the Oil and Gas Suppliers (OGS) Branch was successfully convened and concluded.

The conference took place at the Manhattan Event Centre, Eleyele Road, Jericho, Ibadan, Oyo State. It recorded an impressive turnout, with delegates and observers drawn from the four (4) Zonal Councils of the OGS Branch participating actively in the proceedings.

Distinguished personalities present at the conference included the General Secretary of Union, Comrade Afolabi Olawale, the SAGS (Finance & Accounts) Comrade Vincent Ukhuakua including some officials from the NUPENG Lagos Zonal Council.

The election process was conducted under the supervision of the appointed Returning Officer, Comrade Osunbor Idahoise, SAGS/Admin. Head of the Lagos Zonal Council of NUPENG.

At the conclusion of the elections, the following contestants were duly retuned elected to serve in their respective capacities:

In line with the provisions of the Union’s Constitution and the OGS Bye Law, the Oil and Gas Suppliers (OGS) Branch of NUPENG, Warri Zonal Council, successfully convened its Zonal Delegates Conference on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.

The conference took place at the Petrol Station Workers (PSW) National Secretariat, KM 4 Benin/Auchi Expressway, Aduwawa, Benin City, Edo State, where the following officers were duly elected.

NUPENG WARRI ZONAL DELEGATES’ CONFERENCE SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

In accordance with the democratic traditions and constitutional provisions of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), the Warri Zonal Delegates’ Conference was successfully organized and concluded on Thursday, 26th March, 2026.

The Warri Zonal Delegates’ Conference was held at Choice Gate Hotel and Suites, No. 11 Nneka Street, off Ugbor Road, GRA, Benin City, Edo State. The conference was well attended by delegates from the various branches of the Union, as well as observers and Union officials within the Zone. The Returning Officers for the elections were Comrade Danladi Yahaya, National Financial Secretary, and Comrade Suleiman Pema, Assistant General Secretary (Research & Planning Affairs).

At the conclusion of the elections, the following contestants were duly returned elected:

NUPENG KADUNA ZONAL DELEGATES’ CONFERENCE SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

In accordance with the democratic traditions and constitutional provisions of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), the Kaduna Zonal Delegates’ Conference was successfully organized and concluded on Thursday, 26th March, 2026.

The Kaduna Zonal Delegates’ Conference was held at No. 3, Zecool Hotels and Apartments, Zecool Crescent, Barden Yana, opposite GT Bank, Barnawa, Kaduna. The conference was well attended by delegates from the respective branches of the Union, as well as observers and Union officials within the Zone. The Returning Officers for the elections were Comrade Ogbodo Thompson, National Auditor, and Comrade Adejoke Oyeleke, National Welfare Officer.

In accordance with the democratic traditions and constitutional provisions of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), the Lagos Zonal Delegates’ Conference was successfully organized and concluded on Thursday, 26th March, 2026.

The Lagos Zonal Delegates’ Conference was held at the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Ibadan Bar Centre, Are Afe Babalola Hall, NTC Road, Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan, Oyo State. The conference was well attended by delegates from the various branches of the Union, alongside observers and Union officials within the Zone. The Returning Officers for the elections were Comrade Prince Moses, Deputy President, and Comrade Ndaliman Adamu, National Auditor.

At the end of the elections, the following contestants were returned elected:

The Port Harcourt Zonal Delegates’ Conference was held at Villa Garden Hotel, 26 Wetheral Road, opposite IICE, Owerri, Imo State. The conference was well attended by delegates from the various branches of the Union, as well as observers and Union officials within the Zone. VISION

To organize, protect, promote and defend the socio-economic and political interest of the oil and gas workers in Nigeria. OBJECTIVE Its objectives as contained in the Union’s Constitution are as follows: To ensure the complete unionization of all workers employed in the petroleum and gas industry. To regulate the relations and settle disputes between members and employers and between a member and another. To obtain and maintain a just and equitable general conditions of service. To advance the education and training of members. To provide benefits and other assistance as provided in the Constitution. To encourage the participation of members in decision making in the undertaking both at industrial and National levels. To protect and advance the socio-economic and cultural interest of the community and such other objectives as are lawful and are not inconsistent with the spirit and practice of trade unionism. To promote and encourage International Fraternal relations with bodies having the interest of petroleum and Gas Workers. To establish and carry on or participate (financial and otherwise) in the business of the printing or publishing of a general Newspaper or of any other undertaking, industrial or otherwise, in the interest of or with the main purpose of furthering the interest of the Union or trade unionism generally. MEMBERSHIP Its membership is open to all junior workers in the oil well and natural gas well operations in the industry including prospecting, drilling, crude oil and natural extraction of oil and natural gas, pipelines, refining, distribution and marketing of natural gas and petroleum products including petroleum tanker drivers (Haulage) regardless of s*x, religion, belief or ethnic origin.
