Despite technology being one of the fastest-growing sectors globally, women still make up only about 25–30% of ICT roles worldwide. This gap highlights a deeper issue, access, opportunity, and representation still matter.
ICT is no longer a niche field, it is embedded in everyday life. From communication and education to health systems, business, and even climate action, digital tools are shaping how the world responds to global challenges. Technology now plays a key role in environmental monitoring, climate data collection, disaster response, and building sustainable solutions.
Yet many girls still grow up without enough exposure, mentorship, or encouragement to explore opportunities in technology and innovation spaces that can also contribute to climate resilience.
Because when girls are included in ICT, they are not just entering a sector, they are contributing to innovation that can also protect people and the planet.
The digital future should be inclusive, and girls must be part of building it.
