This month has been deeply reflective as we intentionally celebrated women who have shaped and strengthened our mission, and those whose journeys continue to inspire the work we do.
Yet, we cannot draw the curtains without celebrating an outstanding beneficiary whose life is a powerful testament to impact, transformation, and purpose. She has shown us that our mission is not just valid—but truly life-changing. That our DEED model is indeed a game changer.
Today, we proudly unveil Deborah.
From being a recipient at one of the IDP camps we serve, Deborah has risen to become a CEO—training and empowering women in fashion design. A full-circle story of resilience and possibility.
What remains most remarkable about her journey is her heart. While we taught children in the camp, Deborah chose to stand in the gap—as a volunteer, a carer, a monitor—ensuring every child stayed attentive and engaged. She showed up, not because she had everything, but because she was willing to give from the little she had.
Her request was simple:
“I can sew, I just need the right tool so I can rebuild my life when I return home.”
Weeks later, we provided that tool. A sewing machine. Deborah returned home with her family to the very place insurgency had once forced them to flee. Armed with skill, courage, and determination, she began again.
Today, nearly five years later, Deborah is still standing strong—building, teaching, and lifting others as she rises. Her story is one of passion, grit, and intentional action.
This is why we do what we do.
Let’s give Deborah a well-deserved standing ovation.
