Today is the start of getting the leaky roof fixed. The guys do not come in the house because of all the dogs and cats. It is very stressful for them. So this happened while I was outside showing them how to access the roof from the outside. For those wondering why there are not many dogs here right now…it is to hard to keep large numbers of dogs calm for the day when there are strange men working on the property. Much maintenance has been put off for years because of this. I hate seeing the dogs stressed out. Mac and Mooncake have the hardest time.

Mezcal arrived to his foster home in Victoria, BC on Sunday and seems to be adjusting very well. He has met the resident bunny and so far is doing great. Mezcal is 11 months old, fully vaccinated, dewormed and neutered. Please fill out an application if you would like to meet and adopt Mezcal. The application is available on the website.

Jeff Leggat is our super hero! He took the ferry over to Vancouver to meet puppies Patron & Mezcal. They arrived into Vancouver 🇨🇦 on Saturday night. He had booked a room at a local hotel because he wouldn’t make the ferry back to Vancouver Island. So here is Patron and Mezcal getting ready to sleep for the night in their first experience in a hotel! How much sleep do you think Jeff got? Thank you Jeff for all you have done for these little puppies. He is now on the ferry back to Victoria to deliver Mezcal to his foster home and Patron to his new family! Simply outstanding!

Flight Angels & volunteers are a huge part of getting these dogs to their forever homes. Congratulations Dana Shahmirzadi you certainly have earned your angel wings today! Dana not only escorted Mezcal and Patron to Vancouver but also another lucky pup. We are so grateful to get these dogs out of the summer heat & rain. We couldn’t do it without you. Also a big shoutout to Meghan Cressman for doing the paperwork for us, Diane Daly for her help getting the dogs to the airport, and Jeff Leggat who made the trip by ferry to pick the puppies up in Vancouver and will overnight with them. You are all amazing! 🙏

Wonderful news! Patrón has found his forever family and is currently on his way to Vancouver, BC. 🇨🇦 Volunteer Diane Daly was able to come today to help get the puppies organized, loaded and on their way to their new lives. I couldn’t have managed very well without your help today Diane. Thank you for everything! 🙏💖

Good morning! The sun is out! We had a lot of rain yesterday. Still no sign of Stella. She loved the rain and would sit by the pool. We sure do miss her. My roof is leaking pretty bad in some areas. Anyone know any good roofers? We need to get the repairs done. We are supposed to get more rain in the next few days. Hopefully things will dry up a bit for the puppies to fly on Saturday. The cooler weather is certainly better for them and all of us. Have a wonderful day.

UPDATE- Patron is adopted!🩵

Today Mezcal and Patron went to get their final health check done. Mezcal weighed in as a heavyweight at 17.10kg and Patrón as a lightweight at 12kg. Patrón was the baby of the litter and much smaller than the other 5 siblings. They have their health certificates and will arrive in Vancouver on Saturday night. They will be fostered in Victoria.
They can be adopted together or separately. Their 4 siblings and mama have already been adopted and all live on Vancouver Island. A completed application is required.
