Cancer Society of Maldives

Cancer Society of Maldives It is one of our top priorities to conduct cancer research and to create a cancer patient registered data base in the Maldives.

Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM) is a national community based (non-profit/non-governmental) organization formed for the purpose of reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the Maldives. We aim to contribute towards the well being of our community by creating awareness about cancer, providing support and circulating information and resources so as to enhance the experience of people fighting against cancer.

Cancer affects far more than the body. The emotional toll anxiety, grief, isolation, and uncertainty is something many survivors carry long after treatment ends. Healing looks different for everyone, but one thing remains constant: community matters.

Whether you’re a survivor, a caregiver, or a loved one, knowing how to offer support can make all the difference. The Cancer Support Group (CSG) is here to remind you that you don’t have to carry this alone.

Today, on World Blood Donor Day, we celebrate every person who has chosen to give, quietly, generously, and often without knowing whose life they’re changing.

For many cancer patients, donated blood is not just helpful, it’s a necessary part of treatment and recovery. It’s one of the most direct ways our community can show up for one another.

This year’s theme says it best: One Drop of Humanity. If you’re able to, consider donating blood. It matters more than you know. 🩸

Survivorship begins the moment someone is diagnosed — not just when treatment ends. But life after cancer comes with its own set of challenges: physical changes, emotional weight, and the ongoing need for follow-up care. Understanding what survivorship truly means is the first step in supporting those who live it every day. This week, we’re shedding light on what the journey beyond treatment looks like and why continued care matters so much.

June is Cancer Survivors Month — a time to honour the courage of those who have faced cancer, to walk alongside those still in the midst of their journey, and to celebrate the strength that carries people through. At the Cancer Society of Maldives, we believe every survivor’s story deserves to be seen and celebrated. This month, we’re sharing stories, information, and support, because no one should walk this path alone.

Every cigarette is marketed as a moment of calm, freedom, or connection. But behind that image lies a reality the industry doesn’t advertise — addiction, illness, and lives cut short.

This World No To***co Day, we’re unmasking the appeal. To***co use remains one of the leading preventable causes of cancer worldwide, and in the Maldives, its impact is deeply felt.

If you or someone you love is ready to quit, know that support is available, and that every step away from to***co is a step toward better health.

You deserve to see through the smoke. 🚭
