Diabetes Society of Maldives (DSM) team had the privilege of meeting with His Excellency the Vice President of the Maldives, Hussain Mohamed Latheef.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges faced by people living with diabetes in the Maldives and to share DSM’s ongoing efforts to improve diabetes care, awareness, and access to essential treatment and support services.

We are grateful for the Vice President’s time and interest in advancing the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by diabetes. Together, we look forward to strengthening partnerships and creating a healthier future for all Maldivians.

A team from Diabetes Society of Maldives participated in Diabetes India 2026, held in Hyderabad, India from 13th February to 15th February 2026, representing the Maldives on an international platform dedicated to advancing diabetes care, research, and global collaboration.
CEO, Aishath Shiruhana, delivered a presentation about the Role of Social Support and Community Engagement in the Success of Lifestyle Intervention Programs and also served as the In-Charge of the IDF Symposium, in addition to being part of the Meet the IDF Experts session contributing to meaningful global discussions on diabetes care and advocacy.
We are equally proud to share that
Chairperson of DSM Board Mohamed Shujau, chaired a session, further strengthening DSM's leadership presence at this event.
We remain committed to learning, sharing, networking, and bringing global best practices back home to strengthen diabetes prevention, improve care, and enhance the quality of life of people living with diabetes in the Maldives.
