Checkpoint Malta is collaborating with Sexual Health Malta, Primary Healthcare doctors and GU Clinic to bring a day-long walk in STI clinic to Gozo this Saturday 5th September from 10am-6pm during Gozo PRIDE.
It's open to EVERYONE and no registration or appointments required, just turn up and get tested.
Free, fast and confidential with results given during the appointment which takes less than 30 minutes.
The location is the newly refurbished community clinic on Triq Enrico Mizzi, Victoria; the old polyclinic NOT the main clinic by the bus station.

It has been reported to us that a number of Mpox infections have been treated since early August in Malta.

What is Mpox? How can I prevent getting Mpox? What do I do if I suspect I have Mpox?

Mpox can spread through close physical and sexual contact. Knowing the signs and taking simple precautions can help protect you and your partners. There is a vaccine available to those most at risk.

Stay informed, look out for symptoms, and seek advice if you have concerns.

📢 Expression of Interest: Website Development for Checkpoint Malta

Expression of Interest (EOI) – Website Design, Development & Booking System

Checkpoint Malta is seeking expressions of interest from experienced website developers or development agencies to design, develop, and deploy a modern, user-friendly website based on WordPress (preferred platform).

Checkpoint Malta aims to improve HIV treatment and prevention for a stigma-free Malta. It also runs a community HIV testing programme across Malta and Gozo, providing free, fast and anonymous testing services. The website will serve as a central hub for our activities and should be easy for our team to manage and update independently.

Scope of Works

The website should include, at a minimum, the following pages:

✅ Landing/Home Page
✅ Booking Page
✅ Projects Page, highlighting the NGO's initiatives, including testing activities and a documentary project
✅ Contact Us Page

Required Functionality

The website should provide:

✅ Responsive design suitable for desktop, tablet and mobile devices
✅ WordPress Content Management System (CMS)
✅ Ability for administrators to create, edit and publish new pages and content without developer intervention
✅ Integrated online booking system allowing users to reserve available appointment slots
✅ Administrative dashboard to manage and track bookings
✅ Automated email notifications to both the NGO and users upon booking confirmation
✅ Functionality for users to modify or cancel bookings
✅ Functionality for NGO administrators to modify bookings when required
✅ Ability for the NGO to contact individuals who have made bookings directly through the system or via stored contact information
✅ GDPR-compliant handling of personal data
✅ Basic Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) setup
✅ Integration with social media platforms

Submission Requirements

Interested service providers are invited to submit:

🔹 A brief company or individual profile
🔹 Examples of relevant work, particularly WordPress websites with booking functionality
🔹 Proposed approach and recommended plugins/platforms
🔹 Estimated project timeline
🔹 Financial quotation (including any recurring licence, hosting or maintenance costs)

Submissions will be assessed on:

Europe is still behind in reaching the WHO target of having 60% of chronic hepatitis B and C cases diagnosed. According to the latest ECDC report, 35% of people living with HBV and 41% of people living with HCV had been diagnosed as of 2024. This indicates that large numbers of people are living with undiagnosed hepatitis B and C across the region, and that countries are falling considerably behind on this target.
