St. Augustine College Air Scouts Welcome to the St. Augustine's College Airscouts page. The only Airscouts on the Maltese islands. The St.

Augustine’s College Airscout Group, the only airscout group in Malta, offers adventure, learning, fun, and friendships that last a lifetime. Our aim is to help our young boys develop into responsible and dependable adults. By organising activities (both indoors and outdoors), we offer an all-rounded approach to the exciting scouting programme, as well as delving into aviation-related activities and visits. The scout group is divided into four main sections:
• The Pack – 7 to 10 1⁄2 years old
• The Squadron – 10 1⁄2 to 14 years old
• The Venture Unit – 14 1⁄2 to 18 years old
• The Rover Crew – 18 to 26 years old

If you’re interested, join us every Saturday at the Pieta` Campus between 16:00 and 18:00, contact us right here on Facebook or send us an email on [email protected].

This weekend our Senior Troop took on a two-day expedition along Malta’s west coast. On Saturday they hiked from Mdina all the way up to Ċirkewwa, then set up camp for the night at l-Aħrax tal-Mellieħa. On Sunday morning they packed up and continued down to Mellieħa.

Along the way they met some wonderful people and even helped out an injured Marsh Harrier 🪶 thanks to Malta Ranger Unit

Every scout made it to the finish, and they had a great time doing it. Well done to our seniors for their determination, teamwork and brilliant spirit. We’re proud of you all! 💪

Scouting skills go beyond the campsite. Well done to all involved!

Our Scouts spent part of summer camp building and painting these beehives! A hands-on project with a real purpose behind it.

Thanks to the Foundation for the Conservation of the Maltese Honey Bee, the boxes will now be set up in the Foundation's apiaries, helping conserve Apis mellifera ruttneri, Malta's National Insect. 🐝🐝 Special thanks to Dylan Farrugia for his wisdom and guidance.

Our Cubs, Troop and Venture sections just enjoyed a fantastic activity at Crashpad Malta and it’s safe to say they had an absolute blast! 💪

From climbing, challenging themselves and encouraging one another, everyone had a great time and made some brilliant memories along the way.

The venue itself was incredibly neat, welcoming and safe, making it a great environment for our young people to try something different and push themselves outside their comfort zones.

A very special thank you to David and the whole Crashpad team for all their help with organising the activity, as well as for mentoring, guiding and looking after us throughout the session. Your support really helped make the experience such an enjoyable one for everyone. 🙏

We had an amazing time and we’re already looking forward to the next one! 🧗

Last Saturday, our Beaver Scouts had an amazing time exploring the Malta National Aquarium as part of ASL Damien's final leader training!

The Beavers learned all about the different species of fish and their environments, and had lots of fun taking part in the activities Damien had prepared for them. It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience for our youngest section!

A huge thank you to the Malta National Aquarium for hosting us, and a special shout-out to our guide, who was so helpful and patient with our Beavers throughout the visit. Your enthusiasm made the day even more special! 🙏

Today our Cubs joined forces with the 1st Sliema Scout Group (Bernard's Own) to complete their Marine Badge in a fun-filled day of learning and adventure!

The Cubs explored both the rocky shoreline and the sandy beach at Exiles, Sliema, discovering the different habitats and wildlife found along our beautiful coastline. They then headed to the Sliema Scout HQ, where they learnt fascinating facts about the Mediterranean Sea, the amazing creatures that live in it, and the importance of protecting our marine environment.
Working in mixed groups, the Cubs took part in a variety of hands-on activities, explored different marine animals, and made new friends while getting to know Cubs from another Scout Group. They also discussed why our oceans are so important, the threats they face, and how each of us can help keep them clean and healthy for future generations.

It was a fantastic day of friendship, teamwork, and discovery. A heartfelt thank you to all the leaders who helped organise and run this wonderful activity.

Well done to all the Cubs on achieving their Marine Badge!

Well done to Luca Goggi, one of our troop members, who recently completed his Artist Interest Badge!

He prepared a presentation for the troop and proudly shared a selection of his artwork, explaining the different techniques and materials he used. His work included pencil drawings, soft pastels, oil pastels and coloured pencils.

“I have always been interested in art. In these drawings, one can see a blend of pencil, soft pastel, oil pastel and coloured pencil techniques.

Completing these drawings was not a walk in the park. They were very time-consuming and required a great deal of patience. However, I am very pleased with the final results. Thanks to the constructive feedback I received from my family, I can continue improving my skills and create more detailed and vibrant artwork.

Steve Jobs once said, ‘Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.’

From these words, I realised that producing something good requires hard work, patience and consistent practice.”

A massive thank you to Aġenzija Żgħażagħ! 🙏

This year, with their support, we've been able to add some brilliant new equipment toour Group... a portable speaker and microphones, portable projector screens, four large gazebos, chairs and tables for our younger sections, a full PE equipment set, new rope for lashings, and wall fans for the HQ.

Better sound at events, proper shelter at camps, comfortable spaces for our youngest Scouts, and safer gear for teaching skills like lashings. All of this goes straight back into giving our members better Scouting experiences, week in and week out.

We're really grateful to Aġenzija Żgħażagħ for backing youth groups like ours and making this possible through BOOST. Thank you for investing in our young people! 💙
