Sri lanka Red Cross Society Matale branch is one of the leading and Pioneer branches of SLRCS in delivering multiple humanitarian services in the Matale District in the vision of "Safer and Resilient Communities live in peace & harmony". And our overall goal is to have wider community reach out through efficient ,effective,high quality ,transperant and accountable service delivery mechanism with e

nhanced image and self sustained by following key principles of the Rec Cross Movement. Currently the branch is having 04 active RC divisions ( Matale , Rattota, Dambulla & Galewela) consist of over 500 membership. In addition Matale branch has 09 active youth circles and 15 school circles with over 225 membership by 2015.

During the Derana Rangiri Dambulu Surya Mangalyaya 2026,
with the special contribution of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Matale Branch Youth,
our dedicated team successfully and efficiently provided First Aid services throughout the event. 🚑

Throughout the program, we ensured rapid response at every moment of need,
safeguarding lives, promoting health, and delivering a meaningful service to the community ❤️

Being part of a national-level celebration like this,
and serving humanity with commitment and compassion,
is both a great honor and a responsibility for us 🙏

📦❤️ Dry ration packs were successfully distributed to families affected by Cyclone Ditwah 🌪️ in the Naula area.

The program was held on 10th April 2026 at the Grama Niladhari Office of the Naula Divisional Secretariat, organized by the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Matale Branch.
In line with the spirit of the Sinhala and Hindu New Year, this initiative provided timely relief to affected families, enabling them to welcome the New Year with renewed hope and dignity 🌸✨

This effort offered essential support to help families rebuild their lives, restoring confidence and reassurance during their recovery journey.

The program was carried out under the DREF project, with the generous support of the Chellaram Foundation 🤝

Hon. Branch Chairman, Branch Secretaries, committee members, staff, and dedicated volunteers of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Matale Branch were present at the distribution, along with the Assistant Divisional Secretary of Naula, office staff, and other officials 💪🚑

In addition, officers from the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Naula Unit and Pilihudugolla Unit also actively participated in this initiative.

Together, we continue to support those in need, empowering them to rebuild their lives with renewed hope in this New Year ❤️✨

The program was held on 10th April 2026 at the auditorium of the Ambanganga Korale Divisional Secretariat, organized by the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Matale Branch.

Dry ration packs donated by Sri Lankans living in the UAE 🇱🇰🤝🇦🇪 through Trico Maritime (Pvt) Ltd were distributed to the people affected by the Ditwah Cyclone Storm in the Ambanganga Divisional Secretariat Division.

Our sincere gratitude goes to Hon. Jagath Abeysinghe, Senior Vice President of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, for his valuable guidance in making this humanitarian initiative successful. We also extend our special thanks to Mr. Gamini Kannangara, Managing Director of Trico Maritime (Pvt) Ltd, for his generous support and assistance in providing these relief items.

✨ First Aid Service at the Matale Theru Festival 🚑

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Matale Branch successfully organized a First Aid service during the annual Matale Theru Festival, ensuring the safety and well-being of the large number of devotees who participated in this important religious and cultural event.

Our trained volunteers were actively engaged in providing immediate first aid assistance and responding promptly to any emergencies throughout the festival.

We deeply appreciate the dedication and commitment of our volunteers who worked tirelessly to serve the community, and we extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported this initiative. ❤️
