子供地球基金は1988年、日本で創立以来、想像力豊かな子どもを育てることを目的とし世界中で子どもたちと絵を描くワークショップを行っています。
子どもたちに表現することの大切さを伝え、絵を描くことで、自分の心に耳を傾け、本当の自分を発見し、自分の力で生きる光と希望へとつないでいます。
災害、戦争、病気などで心に傷を負った子どもたちへ画材、絵本、文房具などの寄付を続けています。また、物やお金だけでなく、ぬくもりや希望を届けたいという思いから、クロアチア、ベトナム、カンボジアなどに精神的なよりどころとなり夢を語れる家として、キッズ・アース・ホームを設置しています。
3月11日の東日本大震災一週間後からは、毎週被災地に入り子どもたちと絵を描くワークショップをしながら津波で流された学校の机や教材、ピアノなどを送っています。
7月7日には12箇所目となるキッズアースホームを宮城県
亘理郡亘理町に立ち上げました。これから長くかかる東北復興のため、そして子どもたちの為に地域と共に子どもたちに寄り添って力を尽くして参ります。
世界中のすべての子どもたちが、笑顔で自由に絵を描くことのできる日がくることを目指し、子供地球基金は活動を続けていきます。
子どもたちの絵で地球を塗り替えよう
子供地球基金は子どもの無垢な心が出発点でした。
地球が元気でいるように、という願いを込めて「ぼくたちから地球に、やさしい心をプレゼントしよう」と４歳の志村星が描いた一枚の絵がきっかけとなり、活動がスタートしました。
描くことがセルフケアへとつながっていく
災害や戦争などで心に傷を負った子どもたちにとって、アートは計り知れない価値を持っています。
絵を描くことでセルフカウンセリングし、想いを自由に表現することで現実を受け入れ、自分の力で未来への希望をたぐり寄せるのです。
子供地球基金は、様々な理由で心にトラウマを抱えた子どもたちに画材を提供し、国内では小児病棟、児童養護施設、児童自立支援施設などで海外では戦争地域、貧困地域など、世界約40カ国以上で活動を行っています。

子供地球基金は常に、子どもたちと共に考えています。その答えのひとつが、絵を描くこと。子どもたちが描く絵は海を渡り、世界の困難な状況を強いられている子どもたちを励まし救っています。さらに、子どもたちが絵を描きその絵が基金となって他の子どもたちを救っていく。まさに子どもたちが子どもたちを救う活動です。

世界中で描かれる子どもたちの絵は、各国で高い評価を受けています。
フランス・ポンピドゥーセンターやロシア・プーシキンミュージアムをはじめ、国内外の美術館などで3,000回以上絵画展を開催し、子どもたちのメッセージを発信し続けています。
KIDS EARTH FUND (KEF) is a non-profit organization that works worldwide to promote peace and environmental conservation through the medium of children's art.All KEF proceeds are donated to projects for children throughout the world who suffer from the results of war, poverty and environmental contamination. Since its establishment in 1988, KEF has sponsored and carried out distribution of monetary and non-monetary (e.g. medical supplies, art/education materials etc.) Countries receiving donations include Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cambodia, China,Croatia, India, Mozambique, Nepal, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. KEF commissions children's art, which expresses a global vision of environmental health and peaceful co-existence from throughout the world. A selection of children's paintings are reproduced with the assistance of corporate sponsorships, to create marketable products such as calendars, wrapping paper, greeting cards, logo stickers and many more. Sponsorship proceeds help facilitate the global communication of KEF's mission statement advocating peace and conservation. KEF has held exhibitions of children's art in such major centers as Pompidou Center in Paris, GATT Headquarters in Geneva, the Pushkin Museum in Moscow and the World Trade Center in Boston. The art created by these children, which displays a purity and simplicity only children can visualize, opens opportunities for cross-cultural communication that has too often become an insurmountable obstacle in our world.
