The Association is small but completes a number of important tasks annually. The major sources of funding are MOFA and CLAIR.

The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme Alumni Association of Jamaica (JETAA Jamaica) is a non-profit organization that works to maintain a strong link between Jamaica and Japan. JETAA Jamaica works closely with the Embassy of Japan in Jamaica, CLAIR, MOFA, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Jamaica) and to a lesser extent, the Ministry of Education and JICA, to maintain a strong link between Jamaica and Japan.

For the survivors who inspire us, those still fighting with courage, the families standing strong, and the loved ones we carry in our hearts. Together, we run for awareness. We stand for hope. We move for a future where no one faces cancer alone.

Our hearts are with the people of Japan during this difficult time.

JETAA Jamaica extends our deepest condolences to everyone affected by the devastating 7.1 magnitude earthquake in southern Japan. We mourn the tragic loss of life, stand in solidarity with those who have suffered injuries, and grieve alongside the families and communities whose homes, livelihoods, and treasured places have been damaged or destroyed.

The enduring friendship between Jamaica and Japan reminds us that, even across oceans, we are connected through compassion and shared humanity. We admire the resilience and strength of the Japanese people and keep all those impacted in our thoughts as recovery and rebuilding begin.

To our friends, colleagues, current JETs, JET alumni, and everyone across Japan—we are thinking of you. May those who have been lost rest in peace, may the injured recover swiftly, and may comfort and hope find every affected community.
