On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, the Jamaica Prefects’ Association (JPA) participated in a Joint Consultation for Jamaica’s third Voluntary National Review (VNR) under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, hosted by the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel. The Association was represented by Head Girl of Dunoon Park High School, Dannielle Lawrence, who was accompanied by Prefect Kquantaya Alberga. The session provided a platform for youth to share perspectives on national development priorities, challenges, and recommendations toward advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The session, which was held under the theme “Leadership; Bridging the Gap Between Student Governance and Local Governance,” featured meaningful discussions between the Custos of Trelawny and the Prefects of Trelawny. The Custos and the student leaders spoke about their respective roles and responsibilities, with him also sharing insight into his own duties. Throughout the discussion, he identified and addressed various issues that come with leadership at both the student and community levels, creating a valuable exchange of ideas and perspectives.
