November is National Parents Month, and this year the call is: Parents Take A Stand – Raise Kindness, Stop Bullying.

Before we talk about what happens at school, let’s talk about what children see at home. Our children learn kindness (and unkindness) by watching us first: how we speak to them, to each other, and about other people.

And after the year many of us have had since Melissa, we know stress is real. Our children are learning from how we handle it too.

This week, we’re starting with US and how we Model It.

Last Saturday, we rolled up our sleeves for a cleaner coastline.

In recognition of International Coastal Cleanup Day, the VM Foundation, alongside the GK Foundation, joined volunteers for the Kingston Harbour Cleanup Project at Gun Boat and Buccaneer Beach in Palisadoes.

It was a morning of teamwork, community and taking action to help protect Jamaica’s coastline.

Empowering Our Future, One Backpack at a Time! ✨

The VM Foundation team, led by CEO Samantha Charles, was on the ground at the Barbary Hall Primary & Infant School in St. Elizabeth for the NET Pop-Up Village!

In partnership with the National Education Trust (NET), we handed out backpacks with essential school supplies and water bottles to support students and families as they prepare to head back to school. 📚
