At the recently held Council for World Mission Partners in Mission Global Gathering in Guyana, CWM's mission partners supported the Thursdays in Black campaign, 𝑻𝙤𝒘𝙖𝒓𝙙𝒔 𝒂 𝒘𝙤𝒓𝙡𝒅 𝒘𝙞𝒕𝙝𝒐𝙪𝒕 𝒓𝙖𝒑𝙚 𝙖𝒏𝙙 𝙫𝒊𝙤𝒍𝙚𝒏𝙘𝒆.

On the third day of the Council for World Mission PIM Global Gathering, CWM staff facilitated a discussion section on the way forward, which included suggestions for staying connected. This was followed by Holy Communion.

The afternoon saw a retreat to Bartica and a bonfire dinner.

On day 2 of the Council for World Mission's PIM Global Gathering, there was a series of sharings by all our PIMs about their mission stories and experiences. One of the highlights of the day was the cultural night, which saw colourful performances, competitive quizzes and a sampling of international snacks.

The Partner in Mission Global Gathering is currently taking place from 25-29 September in Guyana. On the first day of the gathering, PIMs came together for worship, learning more about the Council for World Mission and its strategy and a discussion on the PIM programme as well as the newly-launched PIM training material.

Rev. Lydia Neshangwe, Moderator of the Council for World Mission (CWM), visited the Guyana Congregational Union (GCU) in Georgetown, Guyana on August 19, 2023. During her first visit to the Caribbean region, she engaged with GCU leadership, learning about their history, challenges, and celebrations. With a focus on revival, Rev. Neshangwe urged GCU to pray for a spiritual awakening in their 32 congregations across Guyana. She emphasized the need for a renewed vision and spiritual direction.

As a symbolic gesture, the Moderator presented the General Secretary of GCU, Rev. Keith Haley, with a unique gift—a flame made from Zimbabwean stones, encouraging him to seek divine guidance. Her visit coincided with the 200th Anniversary of the 1823 Demerara Slave Rebellion, commemorated with a guided tour for herself and Prof. Rev. Dr Roderick Hewitt of The Onesimus Project. The visit concluded with a shared lunch with the GCU Chairman, Rev. Valeska Austin, and some ministers, fostering meaningful connections among leaders.
