The International Union of Superiors General - UISG provides a place for female Superiors General to meet in an ecclesial setting.

With a worldwide membership, we aim to build bridges and develop networks. UISG (International Union of Superiors General) provides an international forum where superiors general of institutes of Catholic women religious can share experiences, exchange information and mentor one another in their role as leaders. UISG encourages dialogue and collaboration among religious congregations within the Church and larger society. UISG offers regular programs, meetings and publications to assist members in their development as leaders of religious congregations. UISG fosters networking and solidarity among the women religious of the world.

UISG joyfully welcomes the appointment of Sr Elena Massimi, FMA, professor at the Pontifical Salesian University, as Undersecretary of the General Secretariat of the Synod.

This appointment highlights the valuable contribution of women religious to the life and mission of the Church, particularly in the journey towards an increasingly synodal Church.

We also express our 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗫𝗠𝗖𝗝, for her years of service and tireless commitment to fostering listening, participation, and communion.

Come annunciare il Vangelo in un mondo in continua trasformazione? Come parlare di fede alle nuove generazioni?

Il Dicastero per la Dottrina della Fede ha pubblicato il 22 ottobre 2026 il documento «𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐞. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢 𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐝𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐝’𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐜𝐚», invitando a ripensare l’annuncio cristiano di fronte ai cambiamenti culturali, alla secolarizzazione e alle nuove tecnologie.
Il documento ricorda che trasmettere la fede non significa soltanto comunicare insegnamenti, ma favorire un incontro autentico con Cristo, capace di trasformare la vita.
Per la vita consacrata, è un invito a riflettere su come testimoniare il Vangelo con autenticità, rimanendo fedeli al proprio carisma e aprendosi ai nuovi linguaggi del nostro tempo.

🌍 CULTURA DIGITAL: HACIA UNA INCULTURACIÓN EFICAZ
¿Cómo anunciar el Evangelio y compartir nuestros carismas en el mundo digital?
El pasado 23 de octubre de 2026, más de 400 personas participaron en el webinar organizado por la UISG en colaboración con la Multimedia International (MMI) y la USG.
🎙️ Mons. Lucio Ruiz, exsecretario del Dicasterio para la Comunicación, invitó a reflexionar sobre la cultura digital como un nuevo espacio de encuentro y misión.
💬 «No se trata simplemente de estar en las redes, sino de inculturarnos para que el Evangelio llegue al corazón de las personas de hoy».

Inspirándose en Pentecostés y en la invitación del Papa León XIV a «reparar las redes», destacó la importancia de salir de nuestros cenáculos, aprender nuevos lenguajes y acompañar a quienes habitan el continente digital.

✨ Un encuentro que nos anima a renovar nuestra mirada misionera, fortalecer la formación y hacer presentes nuestros carismas en la cultura digital.

Ottobre, mese missionario: la missione come comunione.

Nel mese dedicato alla missione, il 20 ottobre 2026, la UISG ha ospitato il seminario autunnale della Sedos Roma

L’incontro, che ha visto la partecipazione di numerosi religiosi e religiose, online e in presenza a Roma, ha approfondito il tema “𝑳𝒂 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆: 𝒖𝒏𝒐 𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐, 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊 𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆”, analizzando come la vita consacrata possa rafforzare il proprio impegno missionario attraverso la collaborazione intercongregazionale, la riconciliazione, l’incontro interculturale e il dialogo interreligioso.

Tra le speaker: suor Roxanne Schares, Segretaria Esecutiva della UISG, e suor Shalini, responsabile del programma di formazione delle formatrici della UISG. Al seminario era presente anche suor Mary Teresa Barron, Superiora generale delle Suore di Nostra Signora degli Apostoli, già presidente della UISG e da poco nominata da Papa Leone XIV Segretaria aggiunta del Dicastero per l’Evangelizzazione e Presidente delle Pontificie Opere Missionarie.

In un mondo segnato da divisioni e conflitti, la missione ci chiama a costruire ponti, a promuovere la comunione e a essere testimoni di pace e speranza.

La lotta contro la tratta di persone deve essere guidata dalle voci delle persone sopravvissute.

La rete globale Talitha K*m vi invita al webinar: “Un approccio incentrato sulle persone sopravvissute per la protezione e l'advocacy”.

Saremo affiancati da donne sopravvissute provenienti da tutto il mondo ed esploreremo come passare da un approccio limitato al “parlare dei sopravvissuti” a un vero e proprio ascolto, lavorando al loro fianco e sostenendo le azioni di advocacy da loro portate avanti.
