Erasmus+ Partnership Building Activity: prevention of gender based violence and support for victims

Associazione InformaGiovani , in collaboration with the Preventing Gender Based Violence Network (PGVNet), is looking for partners interested in taking part in an + Partnership Building Activity focused on preventing gender based violence and supporting victims.

The initiative is aimed at organisations already active in this field, as well as those interested in developing new projects and strengthening their competences on the topic. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, tools and methodologies, build international partnerships, and explore future cooperation opportunities in youth work.

The activity is open to youth workers, educators, teachers, social workers, young journalists, and other professionals involved in preventing gender based violence and supporting victims.

Organisations from different countries will come together to share practices, protocols and experiences, contributing to the development of more effective strategies and tools to address these challenges.

A new international volunteering experience under the VEIL CORPS project has come to an end in Amarante, Portugal.

Over the past few weeks, young volunteers took part in an international volunteering experience in Amarante, working alongside local farmers involved in organic agriculture and the promotion of sustainable practices.

Throughout the activities, participants contributed to grape harvesting and the collection of seasonal produce, as well as sowing, composting, preparing natural fertilisers, and supporting a range of agricultural activities.

The experience provided an opportunity to develop practical skills, gain first hand insight into sustainable production methods, and engage with the local community through shared work and intercultural exchange.

The initiative was part of the VEIL CORPS project, co funded by the European Union and developed through the collaboration between InformaGiovani and Aventura Marão Clube.

Green Beats: a new impetus for Penáguila’s natural and cultural heritage

Over the past few weeks, a group of international volunteers has taken part in an initiative promoting solidarity and active citizenship in Penáguila, helping to enhance the area’s natural, cultural and social heritage.

Among the main activities, participants helped to restore the Ruta Fitoclimática and the historic Jardín de Santos, which had been damaged by a recent fire, carrying out cleaning, maintenance and planting of native species. The group also supported the local museum with conservation work and created artistic installations in the village’s public spaces.

The experience was enriched by weekly meetings with the senior citizens’ centre, fostering intergenerational dialogue and strengthening community ties. Thanks to the collaboration with Penáguila Town Council, the project has had a tangible impact on the local area, promoting inclusion, participation and sustainable development.

Fair play to foster inclusion

Over the past few weeks, a group of international volunteers took part in an initiative in Athens dedicated to social inclusion through art, dialogue and sport.

The initiative involved young people from the Umoja football team, with whom meetings, workshops and an interactive theatre performance were organised on the theme of fair play – understood as respect, cooperation and the celebration of differences.

Through discussion and the methods of Forum Theatre, boys, girls and volunteers reflected together on discrimination, inclusion and active participation, exploring new perspectives and possible solutions to the situations of exclusion portrayed on stage.

The experience concluded with a moment of collective dialogue that highlighted the potential of sport as a tool for promoting equality, solidarity and more welcoming communities.

The IMPACT international youth exchange has come to an end, leaving behind a wealth of discoveries and connections.

Together with the 25 participants from Serbia, the Netherlands, Turkey and Italy, we explored how our everyday choices affect the environment and how small changes can make a difference.

The programme was structured around four pillars: food, transport, digital technology and fashion, offering tools and insights to help adopt more sustainable lifestyles.

In the area of food, participants experimented with reusing food waste and created a shared recipe book featuring dishes from different cultures. In the field of fashion, meanwhile, they transformed and personalised unused clothes, breathing new life into garments destined for the bin.

The group of participants also helped to create tools to share what they had learnt, explored the topic of digital technology through the DART toolkit, and discovered the opportunities offered by the ESC and Erasmus+ programmes.

Yesterday at MuST23 in Capaci, we had the opportunity to look back together on a summer full of experiences, collaboration and participation.

It was an opportunity to highlight how european programmes contribute to the development of the local area and to grassroots initiatives at a local level.

Over the past few months, we have welcomed young volunteers from various countries, who have contributed to the activities of the Isola delle Femmine Nature Reserve managed by LIPU, and taken part in the life and initiatives of MuST23.

During the meeting, we shared results, testimonies and reflections arising from this journey, together with the local council, the university, partner organisations and the local community.

We believe that dialogue between different people, cultures and experiences is the starting point for creating new opportunities. This is why we look to the future with enthusiasm, taking with us what we have learnt and achieved together.

Thanks to CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values), we would like to thank everyone who took part in this project and helped make it a meaningful experience for the whole community.

Revitalising the local area through art

Six volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps spent two weeks in Milena (Sicily), working alongside Il Circo Pace e Bene at the Magazzino Culturale.
Through art, participation and intercultural exchange, they explored the local heritage, helped to maintain community spaces and created art installations inspired by the stories and identity of the local area.

This experience demonstrated how cultural heritage can become a driving force for inclusion, dialogue and community regeneration.

The activity forms part of the ESC project co funded by the European Union.
