Your home deserves security. Your rights deserve recognition.

The Government of Maharashtra has launched a special campaign to support the regularisation of eligible residential encroachments on government land, giving families an opportunity to apply for land tenure rights.

CFSD is working alongside communities by helping eligible applicants understand the process, prepare the necessary documents, and complete their applications. Our goal is to ensure that more families can access the benefits of secure land tenure through the government's initiative.

If you or someone you know may be eligible and needs assistance with the application process, reach out to CFSD for guidance.

Behind every cleaner street is someone whose work often goes unnoticed.

Waste pickers are at the heart of the recycling ecosystem, recovering valuable materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. Their efforts help reduce pollution, conserve natural resources, and keep our cities cleaner while supporting thousands of livelihoods.

Recognising and respecting waste pickers means acknowledging their contribution to environmental sustainability and ensuring they receive the dignity, safety, and opportunities they deserve. A truly sustainable future is only possible when the people who make recycling possible are valued and included.

At CFSD, we believe that building cleaner cities begins with recognising the people who work tirelessly to protect them.

Every Bin Has a Purpose

Waste segregation is more than just sorting garbage it’s the first step towards conserving resources, reducing landfill waste, and creating cleaner neighbourhoods. When we separate waste correctly at home, we make recycling more effective, support composting, and help protect our environment for future generations.

Small daily actions, when practised by every household, can create a lasting impact on our city and our planet. Let’s make responsible waste management a part of our everyday routine and inspire others to do the same.

Start today. Segregate right. Build a sustainable tomorrow.

Every tree planted is a step towards a healthier and more sustainable future.

CFSD participated in a tree plantation drive at the Baba Taj Mahila Bachat G*t Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Centre in Nehru Nagar, Zone 5, bringing together community members to strengthen local environmental efforts.

Tree plantation is more than planting saplings it is about creating greener neighbourhoods, improving air quality, and encouraging communities to take ownership of their environment. Small actions taken together can create a lasting positive impact.

Let's continue working towards cleaner, greener, and more resilient communities.

Women's empowerment begins with awareness, participation, and collective action.

CFSD organised a community meeting in Suraj Nagar, Bhandewadi under the Namaste Scheme, bringing together women to discuss opportunities for growth through Self-Help Groups. The session encouraged dialogue, shared experiences, and created awareness about how these groups can support financial independence, social inclusion, and community development.

By strengthening community networks and empowering women with knowledge, we take another step towards building resilient and self-reliant communities.

Real change begins with small habits, and the best place to nurture those habits is in our schools.

When children actively participate in environmental activities, they don't just learn new concepts they develop values that stay with them for life. Hands-on experiences encourage responsibility, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of how everyday actions can positively impact the environment.

At CFSD, we believe that environmental education is most effective when students can see, experience, and practice sustainable solutions themselves. By engaging young minds today, we are helping build communities that are more conscious of their role in protecting the environment tomorrow.

Together, let's inspire the next generation to care for our planet—one small action at a time.

This International Plastic Bag-Free Day, let's make every choice count.

A simple switch from single-use plastic bags to reusable alternatives can help reduce plastic pollution, protect our environment, and create cleaner, healthier communities for everyone.

Small actions, when repeated every day, lead to lasting change. Carry a reusable bag, say no to single-use plastics, and inspire others to do the same.

Together, we can build a cleaner and more sustainable future.

As temperatures continue to rise, building heat-resilient cities has become more important than ever.

CFSD was invited to participate in the Stakeholder Consultation on Heat Action in Nagpur, hosted by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in partnership with The Metropolitan Institute at the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur.

The consultation brought together government representatives, technical experts, practitioners, and civil society organisations to discuss practical approaches for strengthening heat resilience at the sub-city level.

Representing CFSD, Ms. Leena Mam highlighted how extreme heat disproportionately affects vulnerable communities, particularly waste pickers, informal workers, and residents of informal settlements. She emphasised the importance of community-led, inclusive heat action planning that addresses the needs of those most at risk.

Building resilience to extreme heat requires collaboration, evidence-based planning, and ensuring that the voices of vulnerable communities are part of the solution.

Good health should never depend on a person's occupation or financial situation.

For many waste pickers and vulnerable communities, access to regular health check-ups is limited. Long working hours, challenging environments, and limited access to healthcare often mean that health concerns go unnoticed until they become serious.

At CFSD, we believe that preventive healthcare can make a lasting difference. Through health camps, medical check-ups, and community health initiatives conducted in partnership with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation and healthcare institutions, we work to make essential healthcare services more accessible to those who need them most.

Because every individual deserves the opportunity to live a healthier, safer, and more dignified life.
