CFSD successfully conducted a 7-day Summer Camp in Ambika Nagar, engaging 30 children in fun and educational activities focused on environmental awareness.

From learning waste segregation and understanding the harmful effects of garbage burning to participating in air pollution-themed games, drawing competitions, and a World Environment Day rally, the children explored practical ways to protect our environment.

The camp aimed to nurture responsible habits, inspire environmental leadership, and encourage children to become agents of positive change within their communities.

The newly published DWCC Report highlights the important role of Dry Waste Collection Centres (DWCCs) in strengthening sustainable waste management systems in Nagpur.

The study documents the establishment and functioning of DWCCs and assesses their contribution to dry waste management, livelihood generation, and greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation. Drawing on insights from six DWCCs and quantitative data from four DWCCs, the findings demonstrate how recycling, the substitution of virgin materials, and the prevention of open waste burning contribute to measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

The report showcases how community-based waste management initiatives can support environmental sustainability while creating livelihood opportunities for waste workers.

Published in May 2026, the report provides valuable insights into the environmental and social benefits of Dry Waste Collection Centres.

Vehicle idling unnecessarily releases harmful pollutants into the air, affecting the health of everyone around us. By turning off our engines when stationary, we can reduce emissions, save fuel, and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.
