Wild-CER is proud to sign a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra Forest Department to establish a One Health Centre in the Navegaon Nagzira Tiger Reserve.

This collaboration will:
🐅 Enhance wildlife disease surveillance
💉 Support vaccination programs in buffer zones
📚 Raise awareness among communities and forest staff
🌍 Promote the One Health approach for people, animals, and ecosystems

I felt extremly happy to represent our mission at the Indian Wildlife Ecology Conference (IWEC) 2026.

As a wildlife veterinarian and conservation project manager, this brought in frontline experiences in rescue operations, One Health initiatives, and community-driven conservation in India. This participation underscores Wild-CER’s commitment to bridging science, policy, and grassroots action for India’s biodiversity.

This behaviour of large carnivorous animal like lion is extremely unusual. The man was left unharmed with minor scratches. Interestingly, the was trying to calm down the lioness by patting the large cat.
There is no proper explaination for this behavior. May be the lioness was not hungry, may be she was frightened to see other men in and around, may be she accidently attacked person.

Diseases are increasing threat to the wild animals. Canine Distemper, Rabies, Leptospirosis and many other diseases are being transmitted from domestic/feral dogs to the wild animals especially carnivorous.

5 tigers died of Canine Distemper in Kahna Tiger Reserve. This disease is being transmitted mainly from the domestic/feral dogs and is causing serious problem to other species like jackal and wolf as well.
