The 21st I Hear Foundation–Hinduja Hospital Cochlear Implant Update was held on 4th & 5th July 2026 around this year’s theme, “From Precision Care to Future Frontiers,” bringing together our team of audiologists, habilitationists and hearing rehabilitation professionals for two days of meaningful academic exchange and reflection.

This year’s programme reflected the changing landscape of cochlear implant care from the future of cochlear implants, genetics, gene therapy and precision-focused thinking to mapping, habilitation, listening effort, literacy, telepractice, difficult cochlear implant users and habilitation in the face of socio-economic constraints.

We believe that this update creates a space for honest discussion, sharing experiences and thinking across every stage of the cochlear implant journey from diagnosis and surgery to MAPping, therapy, family support and long-term outcomes.

For I Hear Foundation, this annual Update remains an important part of our commitment to advancing cochlear implant care through education, dialogue and multidisciplinary collaboration.

We thank all our faculty, moderators, panelists and participants for being part of the 21st Update and for helping carry this work forward.

Hearing is not only about sound. It is about belonging, learning, and living fully.
Today, on World Hearing Day, we pause to think about the little things; a child's laugh, a song that takes you back, the voice of someone you love saying your name.

Over 1.5 billion people around the world live with some degree of hearing loss, many of them children who simply need a chance to be heard, and to hear.

At I Hear Foundation, we believe no child should miss out on the world because of a barrier that can be overcome. Together, we can change that.
