Kaziranga National Park is home to two-thirds of the world’s Greater One-Horned Rhinos, plus Bengal tigers and Asian elephants. Every monsoon, when the park floods, these animals depend on ancient migration corridors like Haldhibari and Panbari to escape to the Karbi Anglong hills.

Shrinking the Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ) puts commercial construction directly in front of the only escape route these animals have. Animals don’t recognise administrative boundaries; they just know where to move to survive.

Meanwhile, local activists fighting to protect these corridors are facing severe pushback and arbitrary detentions.

We cannot trade millions of years of natural heritage for concrete and luxury stays.

Beyond the beaches lies Goa’s first-ever Ramsar site of international importance: Nanda Lake 🌊

Spanning over 42 hectares in Curchorem, this shallow freshwater marsh is a vital ecological lifeline. Nanda Lake serves as a habitat and stopover for dozens of bird species and threatened freshwater fish.

Beyond supporting rich biodiversity, this wetland acts as a natural water purifier, recharges groundwater, buffers local communities from extreme flooding and supplies water for agricultural paddy fields during the dry season.

🐦 Key Bird Species: Lesser Adjutant Stork, River Tern, Black-headed Ibis, Purple Heron, Lesser Whistling Duck, Common Kingfisher, Brahminy Kite, Common Iora, Wire-tailed Swallow, Little Cormorant, Common Sandpiper
🐟 Threatened Fish Species: Pethia setnai & Haludaria pradhani
🦦 Mammals: Smooth-coated Otter

Our 224th Project Aquarius site is now operational at the Beat Boundary in Panna Tiger Reserve. In these transitional zones, reliable water sources are essential for keeping wildlife safe within protected ranges and reducing the need for long-distance travel during the harsh dry season.

Thanking HDFC Bank for their generous contributions. Grateful to the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department and forest officials of Panna Tiger Reserve for their support.

Transformation starts with a single act of kindness.
Here’s why choosing an Indie as your companion animal makes a difference:
🇮🇳 Built for India: Native Indies have strong immunity and thrive naturally in local weather conditions.
🐈 Saving Lives: Adoption directly reduces street animal overpopulation and gives a deserving animal a safe forever home.
🐕 Ending Exploitation: Choosing to adopt takes a direct stand against backyard breeding and puppy/kitten mills.

Whether you adopt, foster, feed, or vaccinate... every effort matters. Share this reel to inspire someone to adopt an Indie today!

Independence Day is a celebration of freedom, and shared humanity, and that extends to the animals roaming our streets.

Did you know India has a population of wild wolves just as endangered as our tigers? 🐺🇮🇳

With only around 3,100 Indian Grey Wolves remaining in the wild, these elusive apex predators are fighting for survival, and over 80% of them live outside national parks!

Enter Mahuadanr Wolf Sanctuary in Jharkhand: India’s first and only sanctuary created exclusively to protect these iconic pack hunters and their natural denning sites.

Wolves play a critical role in keeping our grasslands and forest ecosystems balanced. By controlling herbivore populations, wolves preserve the health of our open ecosystems. Protecting their habitats is essential to maintaining nature's balance.

India just revolutionised how we count wild elephants! 🐘🧬

For the first time ever, the Wildlife Institute of India completed a national DNA-based census (SAIEE), setting India’s baseline wild elephant population at 22,446 individuals!

By collecting dung samples across 20 states, scientists eliminated observer bias to get precise genetic profiles, helping us track individual movements, secure vital corridors, and mitigate human-elephant conflict. With Project Aquarius, we are helping elephants across India find easy access to drinking water with the help of solar water pumps.
