*NMOPS-JK greets people on Baisakhi*
Jammu, Apr 14: The National Movement for Old Pension Scheme – Jammu & Kashmir (NMOPS-JK), under the leadership of its State President Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh along with the central leadership, today extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu & Kashmir, especially the employee fraternity and the Sikh community, on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi.
In a statement, the NMOPS-JK leadership said that Baisakhi, one of the most vibrant festivals of the country, marks the harvest season and symbolizes prosperity, growth and new beginnings. The festival reflects gratitude towards nature and highlights the importance of hard work, dedication and perseverance in achieving success.
The leadership observed that Baisakhi is not merely a seasonal festival but also a symbol of unity, brotherhood and communal harmony. In a culturally diverse region like Jammu & Kashmir, such occasions play a vital role in strengthening mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among different communities.
Emphasizing the essence of the festival, the leaders said that Baisakhi inspires people to spread happiness, positivity and values of compassion, tolerance and inclusiveness. They appealed to all sections of society to celebrate the festival in a spirit of unity and collective responsibility for building a peaceful and progressive society.
On the occasion, NMOPS-JK paid rich tributes to farmers and workers for their invaluable contribution towards food security and economic stability, noting that the festival is deeply rooted in agrarian traditions and upholds the dignity of labour.
The organization also acknowledged the significant role of government employees in strengthening governance and public service delivery, appreciating their dedication and commitment despite various challenges.
Reiterating its commitment, NMOPS-JK said it will continue to strive for the welfare and socio-economic security of employees, particularly advocating for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme.
The leadership expressed hope that the spirit of Baisakhi would inspire all stakeholders to work collectively for the welfare of society and wished peace, prosperity and happiness for all.
