The meeting focused on community welfare, social responsibility, unity and collective action towards addressing these concerns.

"JUSTICE FOR HIMASHRI BORO "

The Dhemaji District Committee, United Bodo Peoples Organisation (DDC UBPO) expresses deep anguish and sorrow over the tragic death of Himashri Boro, a young Bodo girl who reportedly went missing while travelling by train from Andhra Pradesh towards Guwahati, with her body later recovered in Andhra Pradesh.

This deeply distressing incident raises serious concerns regarding the safety and security of railway passengers, particularly women travelling alone. Every citizen has the right to travel safely and with dignity.

DDC UBPO strongly urges the concerned authorities to conduct a fair, impartial and time-bound investigation, ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding the incident, and take strict legal action against anyone found responsible.

We further urge the railway authorities to strengthen passenger safety measures, surveillance, patrolling and emergency response systems to ensure that such tragedies do not recur.

The DDC UBPO stands firmly with the grieving family of Himashri Boro and extends its deepest condolences during this painful time.

We demand Truth. We demand Accountability. We demand Justice.

The SANJARI TROPHY Football Tournament was inaugurated by Shri Ratiram Basumatary, President, Dhemaji District Committee, United Bodo Peoples Organisation (DDC UBPO) at the SB Bodo Higher Secondary School Playground, Sanjari Nwgwr, Simen Chapori.

The programme was attended by Shri Anaru Swargiary, General Secretary, DDC UBPO, along with Shri Dipankar Narzary, Vice President, DDC UBPO, who hoisted the flag of Sanjari Nwgwr Football Club.

Representatives of Simen Anchalik ABSU and Ex-NDFB were also present, along with representatives from Sanja Sanjari Nwgwr Anchalik Committee UBPO and SWNAB Sanjari Nwgwr Anchalik Committee UBPO.

The tournament has been organised with the objective of promoting unity, brotherhood and sportsmanship among the youth, while encouraging them to stay away from drugs, substance abuse and other harmful activities.

Through sports, we can channel the energy and talent of our youth towards a healthy, disciplined and positive future.

Let us unite to empower our youth, promote sports and build a stronger, healthier and drug-free society. 🤝⚽

Today, 6th October 2026, a delegation of DDC UBPO visited the Sripani Anchalik AASU Office and held a meaningful discussion on various important social issues and community matters.

The delegation was led by Shri Anaru Swargiary, General Secretary, DDC UBPO, along with Shri Sanswrang Boro, Organising Secretary, DDC UBPO; Shri Phungkha Basumatary, President, Swnab Sanjari Nwgwr Anchalik Committee UBPO; Shri Ambrit Brahma, General Secretary; Shri Ranjit Basumatary, General Secretary, Sanja Sanjari Nwgwr Anchalik Committee UBPO, and other Anchalik representatives.

The delegation also met Shri Kailash Gogoi, AGS, Dhemaji District Committee AASU, along with representatives of Sripani Anchalik AASU.

The interaction focused on important social concerns and strengthening collective efforts for the welfare of the community.

Today, 4th October 2026, the Dhemaji District Committee, United Bodo People’s Organisation (DDC UBPO) took part in the inauguration ceremony of the Reception Office for the upcoming 13th Annual Conference of UBPO which is scheduled to be held from 8th to 10th January 2027 at Mainao Fwthar, Dhulawra, Bongaigaon.

The Reception Office was inaugurated by Sjt. Hitesh Barman, Hon’ble Chairman, Kamatapur Autonomous Council (KAC) in the presence of Shri Mihiniswar Basumatary, Hon’ble CEM, Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC).

The programme was graced by Shri Anil Basumatary, Chairman, BKWAC, and Shri Bhupen Ray, Hon’ble MLA, Abhayapuri LAC and President of the Reception Committee, along with Shri Manuranjan Basumatary, President, UBPO; Shri Pitambar Brahma, General Secretary, UBPO, and representatives of UBPO from various districts, including Dhemaji, Barpeta, Kamrup Metro, Bongaigaon and other districts.

On behalf of the Dhemaji District Committee UBPO, Shri Anaru Swargiary, General Secretary, DDC UBPO; Shri Robin Boro, Vice President, DDC UBPO; and Shri Phungkha Basumatary, President, Swnab Sanjari UBPO and Modaram Basumatary took part in the said programme.

The gathering also included detailed discussions on the preparations and arrangements for successfully conducting the 13th Annual Conference, followed by an inspection of the proposed conference site to review the necessary arrangements and infrastructure.

The DDC UBPO looks forward to contributing towards the successful organisation of the 13th Annual Conference of UBPO and wishes the conference every success.

🕊️ Deepest Condolences from DDC: UBPO

The Dhemaji District Committee, United Bodo Peoples Organisation (DDC–UBPO) expresses its profound grief at the passing of Sri Kamala Kanta Mochahary on 28 September 2026.

A respected teacher, educationist, writer, literary personality and cultural worker, Sri Mochahary dedicated more than four decades of his life to education, Bodo language, literature and social service. His valuable contributions to the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, including his service as General Secretary and Vice-President and his involvement in various literary and social movements, will always be remembered.

His dedication to the promotion of Bodo language, literature and culture and his service to society have left a lasting legacy. His demise is a great loss to the Bodo community and the wider literary and educational fraternity.

The DDC–UBPO extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, colleagues and admirers.

May the departed soul rest in eternal peace.

The 1st Biennial Conference of Simen Chapori Boro Press Club was successfully held at Borimuri Bathou Mandir, bringing together distinguished personalities, community leaders, educators, youth representatives and members of various social organisations for meaningful deliberations on contemporary social issues.

The Dhemaji District Committee, UBPO, was represented by Mr. Ratiram Basumatary, President, DDC UBPO, and Mr. Anaru Swargiary, General Secretary, DDC UBPO, who attended the conference and participated in the Open Session.

The Open Session focused on important themes including today’s society, youth and education; the impact of drugs and alcohol on today’s youth; and the need for quality education in building the future of students. The discussions highlighted the importance of youth empowerment, responsible citizenship, social awareness and collective efforts towards community development.
