With this belief, Vyomini Social Foundation has installed Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines in shelter homes, making menstrual products available round the clock.

But access alone isn't enough.

Our team also facilitated interactive Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Sessions, empowering women with knowledge about:

🌸 Hygiene and infection prevention
🌸 Breaking period stigma
🌸 Understanding their reproductive health

NFHS-6 data presents both progress and a challenge of Menstrual Health & Hygiene.

The percentage of women aged 15–24 using hygienic menstrual protection has increased from 77.6% to 79.2%. While this reflects positive movement, it also highlights the need for a broader approach to menstrual health.

As practitioners working in women's health and empowerment, we must ask:

✔ Are we investing enough in menstrual health education?
✔ Are young women receiving support for menstrual disorders such as PCOS and Endometriosis?
✔ Are workplaces and institutions becoming more period-friendly?
✔ Are we addressing the social stigma that continues to affect millions of girls and women?

True menstrual health means ensuring dignity, knowledge, access, and agency for every woman.

Flashback!

"I resigned my government sector job with no savings and one belief — that rural women can change India."
In 2017, I walked away from a stable job to start Vyomini. People thought I was crazy. Today, Rakshak pads — made by women, for women — have reached 30,00,000 women across India.

The journey from slums to NITI Aayog to TEDx stages taught me one thing: when you work for those who have nothing, the world eventually stands up and takes notice.
